Planned WrestleMania Match Cancelled, Matt Hardy & Washington

WrestleMania is set to feature plenty of matches this year once again, but it seems that one of the matches that had been planned for the event will no longer be taking place. After bringing up the fact that he has never had a singles match at WrestleMania before, it was reported that Smackdown wrestler Dolph Ziggler would finally get his singles match on “The Grandest Stage of Them All.” His opponent for the show was rumored to be none other than Smackdown Commissioner Shane McMahon. McMahon has had matches against the likes of The Undertaker and AJ Styles since returning to the company, so it seemed like a match against Ziggler was a real possibility for this year.
It now appears that the match will not be taking place at WrestleMania this April after all. After announcing that he is stepping down as Smackdown Commissioner, Shane McMahon announced a match between Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens for WrestleMania. The two friends then viciously attacked McMahon, leading fans to assume that he will be returning soon to face them at WrestleMania. Brad Shepard of Bodyslam.net has indeed confirmed that WWE has moved on from the planned match between McMahon and Ziggler. Why WWE will no longer be going through with the match was not revealed, but it seems more likely now that McMahon will continue to feud with Zayn and Owens leading into WrestleMania.
“Woken” Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt’s feud is set to culminate on Raw this Monday night in what promises to be a unique match. For the first time since the original “Broken” gimmick in Impact Wrestling, Hardy will be hosting his match from The Hardy Compound in what is being called “The Ultimate Deletion.” With so much being on the line in the match, Matt Hardy has just sought the advice of his giraffe George Washington. Located in Hardy’s personal zoo, Washington appears to have given him all of the guidance that he needs for his upcoming match against Wyatt. The Ultimate Deletion match will finally be taking place during Monday Night Raw tomorrow night.
