Olivier Veigneau (Kasimpasa) hoping to return to France

L’Équipe report that 34-year-old French left-back Olivier Veigneau, whose contract with Kasimpasa expires at the end of this season, wants to make a return to France.

Four-and-a-half years after arriving in Turkey, the player is attracting interest back in mainland France. Angers have recently contacted the player, as have Ligue 2 outfit Paris FC.

Veigneau had the following to say on his future:

“Six months until the end of my contract, a return to France could interest me, I will be allowed to leave the club if there is a satisfying offer. I know that clubs are looking for players in this position.”

FC Utrecht make loan with option to buy offer for Thomas Basila (Nantes)

20 Minutes report that Dutch side FC Utrecht have this morning made a loan with option to buy offer for 20-year-old French central defender Thomas Basila of FC Nantes.

Both Les Canaris and the player have a decision to make this afternoon, as Basila is frustrated with the lack of playing time that he has so far received.

Newcastle, Torino, Watford & RB Leipzig will have scouts at Dijon vs Monaco tonight

A host of European clubs will send representatives to watch Saturday night’s Ligue 1 clash between Dijon and Monaco.

Newcastle United, Watford, RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen, Torino, Atalanta and Real Betis will all have scouts present at the Stade Gaston Gérard tonight, according to Ignazio Genuardi.

Emergency LFP meeting tomorrow to decide on the fate of Ligue 1 & Ligue 2 amid coronavirus

The LFP will hold an emergency meeting tomorrow morning at 10:00 local time to discuss the possibility of suspending all Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 action with immediate effect owing to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Top flights in Italy, Spain and Portugal have all already suspended.

The French Football Federation has this evening announced the suspension of all semi-pro and amateur football games, at least for this weekend.

Firmin Mubele “uninterested” in returning to Toulouse from his loan if they are relegated

Speaking in an interview with LesViolets.com, 25-year-old Toulouse FC attacker Firmin Mubele, who is currently on loan at Kazakhstan side Astana, told the outlet that he had no intention of returning to Les Violets if they were relegated to Ligue 2 next season.

“I am doing good, I am currently in Lille, recovering (from a recent injury). If everything is normal, I should return to Astana in the beginning of April to return to training with the squad… I am on loan here until the end of June. We will discuss the future after that. No, no I am not interested (in playing with Toulouse in Ligue 2).”
