Bobby Roode On His ‘Glorious Domination’ Theme Song, WrestleMania Debut

– WWE Superstar Bobby Roode recently participated in a interview on 107.7 The Bone with Baby Huey & Bimbo Jimbo a week back, check out the highlights below:

On having no issue with joining NXT before the main roster:

“I was very excited to be a part of NXT actually because it was such a hot brand! At the time Finn Balor was down there. Shinsuke Nakamura was just starting out. Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, guys who I had the pleasure of working with in the past. So, I was extremely excited about going down there. The talent down there was off the charts. To be a part of the WWE itself was just something that I looked forward to. Getting to NXT, and getting a chance to like I said to take that position and be at the forefront and to be in the main events and eventually to become a champion was everything that I was hoping for. It was just an amazing experience down there, such a great brand to be a part of.”

On Glorious Domination becoming his theme song:

“Well I had a different song actually picked out for my debut when I was going to start on NXT TV, but about a week before that I was at the NXT TV taping, and Triple H came up to me and asked me to listen to this song. He thought this song may have fit my character a little better. I had some discussions with Triple H about what I wanted to do, and the character I wanted to portray when I started out. He had me listen to this song, and to be honest I knew it was different than everything else that was in the WWE I knew it was totally, totally different. I thought it could go one of two ways: It could really suck, and be a career killer, or it could be really great. It turned out to be, dare I say GLORIOUS. It’s been an amazing experience. I remember when I debuted at NXT Takeover Brooklyn II, SummerSlam weekend last year. When my music hit for the first time and 15 thousand people sang along with it I knew that I had something special. You know the song itself is half the battle. You think about guys like the Undertaker, HHH, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock that when those songs hits before they even walk down the aisle and you have that reaction from the people half that battle is won for you already so I was very fortunate to get that song, and it’s been fun.”

If he has looked ahead about the chance to have a Wrestlemania moment now that he is on the main roster:

“It’s kind of in the back of your mind obviously because you have that opportunity hopefully. Hopefully I am given the opportunity to be a part of it, but the ball is in my hands right now…Wrestlemania is still many months away, but I am hoping to get an opportunity here to prove myself and have some great matches, and to fit in with Smackdown, and be a big part of it. If I continue to work hard and do the things that I did down in NXT here I’m pretty sure I’ll get that opportunity at Wrestlemania.”

On who he’d like to face from both the Smackdown and Raw roster:

“So many guys. I mean there really is, and I’m not kidding. The first guy that kind of comes to mind here on the Smackdown roster would be A.J. (Styles). A.J. is one of those guys that I had the pleasure of coming up together in the business with. He’s been in the business as long as I have, and we’ve traveled many roads together, and been in the ring a lot, but never on a WWE stage, so that would be very special for me…Anybody on Raw? I mean again there are so many guys over there. John Cena would be awesome. Braun Strowman…I mean the names go on and on and on guys that I haven’t been in the ring with. This is a brand new platform for me. A lot of uncharted waters, and a lot of places I want to go, and a lot of guys I want to face. Very exciting times for me.”

Mickie James Comments On Asuka’s Main Roster Debut

During Sunday’s No Mercy show, we found out that Asuka will make her main roster debut at WWE’s TLC show next month. They didn’t announce who her opponent will be.

Of course, WWE probably does have an opponent in mind for the former NXT Women’s Champion, but if they don’t, Mickie James, who went one on one with Asuka at last November’s NXT Takeover: Toronto show, is more than willing to face Asuka at TLC.

I'll be waiting @WWEAsuka … this time #HardcoreCountry style 😍 https://t.co/BKWVe8nQLO

Alexa Bliss on Which WWE Star Is Her Best Friend, Working with Mickie James, Asuka Joining Raw

WWE Raw star Alexa Bliss recently spoke with Scott Fishman of Channel Guide Magazine and below are some interview highlights:

On Asuka joining Raw:

“I know after the Four Horsewomen, any women that comes up after has to be the evolution to the women’s revolution. I think Asuka is just the person to do that. We are all excited about being a part of everything happening.”

On her friendship with Nia Jax:

“We have the talent help out with the tryouts to make sure everything goes smoothly or if someone who is doing the try out needs help,” Bliss said. “I remember during the talent lunch break, Nia comes up to me as I’m doing cardio on the treadmill. She just comes up to me and starts talking to me like she has never met a stranger in her life. We instantly clicked and have been best friends ever since.”

Working with Mickie James:

“She is super sweet and open to ideas. I’m looking forward to continuing our program. She always says, ‘Well, I’m six one way and half dozen the other.’ We always go that she makes scrambled eggs. That’s not a thing she taught us. If it doesn’t work out today, it will tomorrow. Six one way and half dozen the other. It happens. Things can work out tomorrow. She is very casual that way, which keeps it a stress-free environment. That is so nice to have.”

Perez says lowly P9 in Russia due to ‘extremely unlucky’ race

Sergio Perez says his disappointing run to P9 in last weekend’s Russian Grand Prix unfolded over an “extremely unlucky” afternoon.

On paper, Perez crossing the checkered flag seven places behind his runner-up Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen who had launched his race from the back row of the grid, suggests the Mexican was thrashed in Sochi.

But an analysis of the circumstances that marked the Red Bull driver’s race tells a very different story as Perez was on course for a podium finish when his race fell apart five laps from the end when the rain blew in.

“Yes it’s obviously very disappointing,” he admitted. “I think we were extremely unlucky today.

“Could have gone either way really, you know. If it rained a little bit less, then the people on the inters would have [suffered]. If it rained a bit more, it obviously favoured them.

“I think at the point I was on the lap, it was a little bit too late to know, you know – the amount of rain we were going to have as well – so we were already on the podium, it was a tricky decision to make.”

Ultimately, Perez and his team made the call to pit on lap 50, or three laps from the checkered flag and two laps after Verstappen’s timely switch to the inters, a decision that pushed him all the way down to ninth, just behind Alfa Romeo’s Kimi Raikkonen.

But the late downpour and belated pit stop weren’t the only spanners jammed into the Mexican’s works. Earlier in the race, Perez had lost nearly nine seconds during his first pitstop as his Red Bull crew struggled with the procedure, just as they had with Verstappen at Monza earlier this month.

Perez was asked whether Red Bull was struggling with its new pitstop processes following the recent introduction by the FIA of a technical directive aimed at slowing down the often lightning-fast stops for safety reasons.

“No, I think we just have to see what went wrong, the boys have been doing really quick pitstops, so I think we just have to see what’s going on there and hopefully we are able to fix it going forwards,” he said.

“It’s a bit disappointing for myself but, yes, we just look forward onto the next one because we’ve shown pretty good pace this weekend.”

Backstage News on Brock Lesnar’s WWE Future and the Possibility of The Beast Returning to UFC

As noted, WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar’s WWE contract is set to expire following WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, however according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, there is an option in the deal for both WWE and Lesnar to renew following the PPV in April. As of this writing, the feeling is Lesnar will re-sign with WWE once his contract expires.

Additionally, should Brock Lesnar and WWE part ways after WrestleMania 34, WWE has certain rights included in Brock Lesnar’s deal which would not expire until August of 2018, and could prevent him from making a return to UFC after April of next year.

A UFC fight between Lesnar and Jon Jones has been rumored ever since Jones publicly issued a challenge to The Beast, however according to a new report by MMA Weekly, UFC President Dana White feels WWE would not allow Brock Lesnar to crossover to UFC again, like they did with Lesnar’s bout at UFC 200.

“Lesnar was still under contract with WWE till next August,” White revealed on the Dan LeBatard show recently. “Who knows what would have happened. I don’t count my chickens anymore, I’ll tell you that.”

With regards to WWE granting Lesnar permission to fight while still under contract, White said, “[WWE] didn’t want to do that again. You saw what happened last time he was under contract and it doesn’t look good for anybody.”

Furthermore, The Wrestling Observer notes that Dana White has a good business relationship with Triple H, however the situation is much different with Vince McMahon despite WWE having ties with WME IMG, the current owners of UFC.

Breaking News: Former World Champion Returns on WWE Raw, Attacks Roman Reigns

Roman Reigns did not have a good night this Monday during WWE Raw. Not only did the Big Dog have to face off against Braun Strowman inside a steel cage in the show’s main event, but he was sneak attacked by a returning Kane!

Yes, you read that right.

The former World Heavyweight Champion and self-proclaimed “Devil’s Favorite Demon” made his shocking return to Raw, marking his first official appearance of the entire year! Shortly after dropping Reigns with two chokeslams and a Tombstone Piledriver, Kane was announced as the fifth member of Team Miz, who will face off against The Shield in a 3-on-5 handicap TLC match this Sunday night.

The “Big Red Machine” – who in the real world is an active political advocate and considered one of the smartest men in wrestling history – stepped away for the last ten months to focus on his goal of becoming the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

Why has Kane returned? Is he looking for revenge after Roman Reigns ended the career of his brother The Undertaker? Is he just trying to get some last minute votes in his mayoral campaign?

Join us this Sunday for WWE TLC to find out!

We have BREAKING NEWS here confirmed by WWE.com just moments ago.

Due to unspecified “medical issues” the decision has been made to pull Roman Reigns from this weekend’s WWE TLC pay-per-view. He has been officially replaced by none other than Raw general manager Kurt Angle, who will be wrestling his first match inside a WWE ring in more than 11 years!

It looks like the world will have to wait just a little while longer to see the highly anticipated in-ring return of The Shield, but we’re thinking the return of THE Olympic Gold Medalist is a pretty fair tradeoff. Angle will team up with Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose to take on The Miz, Cesaro, Sheamus, Kane and Braun Strowman in a 3-on-5 tables, ladders and chairs match this Sunday, only on the WWE Network.

Impact Wrestling has issued the following update on its new “Global Forged” series:

Global Forged Update

“The six competitors that have been selected on Global Forged, continue the battle for an IMPACT Wrestling main roster spot.

Global Forged is lead by Head Trainer Scott D’Amore, who is in search of the next top talent to represent in the IMPACT Zone and worldwide. Global Forged has documented, with last week being the sixth episode, wrestlers from all over the globe come to the Can-Am Dojo in Windsor, Ontario to try to move one step closer to living their dreams.

Last week, we watched as the six competitors, Mike Rolling, Jake Something, MM3, Hakim Zane, Tony Cage, and Mark Wheeler continue on their journey. Jake Something explains how the experience so far has been “a bit eye opening”.

“Legitimately a roller coaster of emotions to be honest. One things for sure, it’s made me hungrier than ever.”

The guys are working with trainer Jon Bolen in the Can Am dojo. Bolen is a veteran of the wrestling business and was a very competitive power-lifter. Bolen is in the these guys faces and pushing them every day to see who cracks and who can handle the grind of the wrestling life.

“It’s definitely been a learning experience,” said Wheeler. “I now know how hard you really have to work and grind to be where you want to be in professional wrestling.”

Cage, who comes from all the way from Brisbane Australia, said he’s moved his whole world to Canada for this opportunity.

“This experience has definitely felt like a rollercoaster, you don’t know which way it’s going to go next. It really tests your morale that’s for sure!”

Watch #IMPACTonPOP this Thursday at 8/7c to a brand new episode of Global Forged.”
