Backstage: Renee Young Interviews John Cena
After the match, we see Cena looking on from a monitor backstage once again. This time, Renee Young enters the scene and asks Cena about Team Authority and everything that has happened tonight, namely with those who are scheduled to be a part of Team Cena. Cena says he sees what’s going on. Renee asks Cena about Ryback. Cena says Ryback has made it clear that he’s on “Team Ryback.” Cena walks off.
Rusev (with Lana) vs. Heath Slater
Rusev, accompanied by Lana, makes his way to the ring. As he enters the ring, we head to a commercial. It appears “The Bulgarian Brute” is in action next on RAW.
We return from the break and after being told to “shut-tup” (not a typo) a few times, Lana talks about how Americans drooled over the naked photo of Kim Kardashian. She teases showing a topless photo of herself, but instead shows a photo of Vladimir Putin without his shirt on riding a horse.
Heath Slater then comes out in a goofy-ass U.S.A. outfit, complete with an American flag top hat. He gets in the ring, gets in Rusev’s face, and does his best Clubber Lang (Rocky) impression and says, “ding, ding!” just like Lang did in a similar outfit. Only Slater concluded his by saying, “Ding! Ding! ….BITCH!” They bleeped out bitch, by the way.
The bell does go ding-ding, and about five seconds later, goes ding-ding again, as one kick and an Accolade and Rusev scores an easy win.
Winner: Rusev
Backstage: The Miz, Damien Mizdow, Grumpy Cat, Stunt Grumpy Cat & Erick Rowan
Backstage, The Miz throws one final movie pitch to Grumpy Cat, while Damien Mizdow mimics the speech to his stunt Grumpy Cat (stuffed cat toy), when in walks Erick Rowan. He takes his sheep mask off and says, “I want that cat!” After a dramatic pause, Rowan reaches over and yanks the stunt Grumpy Cat stuffed animal toy from Mizdow and then walks away. Miz and Mizdow look confused.
In-Ring Segment: Big Show, Stephanie McMahon & Sheamus
Big Show makes his way to the ring. During his entrance, we head to another commercial break. Big Show is in action next here on WWE RAW.
When we return from the break, before we can find out who Big Show’s opponent is, out comes Stephanie McMahon. She tells Show he’s been in the shadow of someone or something for his whole career. She says he panders to the people because he wanted to be the man, the main event. She says they don’t have that power. The Authority does.
All of this leads to her making him an offer about inducting him into the 2015 class of the WWE Hall Of Fame. Big Show says — off mic — that his answer is no. As soon as he says that, Sheamus’ theme hits.
Sheamus makes his way out to the ring. He says just like Big Show, he’s proud to be a part of Team Cena. He talks about how this Sunday they’re going to finally drive The Authority out of power. He says this time next week the only way he’ll have to see Steph or her husband is if the two buy a ticket.
Steph mockingly laughs and then tells Sheamus that there’s an issue with his passport and that he’s not technically an American citizen. She says she’ll give them one more reason to consider leaving Team Cena, because the two of them will be in action tonight — against each other. She says the winner of tonight’s match will have the opportunity to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. She says this match starts right now.
Big Show vs. Sheamus
The bell rings as Stephanie leaves the ring. Big Show and Sheamus shake hands and now it’s time for the two Team Cena members to go to battle. The two battle back-and-forth a bit until Big Show throws Sheamus out of the ring onto the floor. On that note, we head to a mid-match commercial. When we return from the break, we see Sheamus crawling in the ring as Big Show calls for the chokeslam. Sheamus, however, fights his way out of it.
Show with several body slams and another elbow for a 2 count. Show keeps control and applies a leg submission. Sheamus makes it to the bottom rope and breaks the hold. Sheamus comes back with offense and knocks Show off his feet. Sheamus keeps control but runs into a big boot. Show misses an elbow. Sheamus goes to the top but Show knocks him out of mid-air with a spear for a close 2 count.
Sheamus counters a chokeslam and hits White Noise for a close 2 count. Show catches a Brogue Kick and nails a chokeslam for 2. Show goes to the second rope and Sheamus falls back, dropping Show off his shoulders. Rusev and Mark Henry hit the ring. Rusev nails Sheamus with a kick for the bell.
Once the match is officially over, Rusev unloads on Show while Henry goes to Sheamus on the floor and tears apart the announce table. Henry puts Sheamus through the table with a World’s Strongest Slam. Rusev puts Show in The Accolade in the ring. We head to another commercial.
