WWE made the huge announcement on Raw last night that there will be a pay-per-view later on this year called Evolution, which will consist entirely of female performers for the first time ever. Before that show arrives though, WWE will continue to build up their next big event: SummerSlam. The show will be returning to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the fourth year in a row, and WWE is wasting no time as far as putting the matches together and officially announcing them is concerned. Matches such as Ronda Rousey vs. Alexa Bliss for the Raw Women’s Championship had already been announced beforehand, but two new title matches and a rematch have just been made official for the event next month.
Roman Reigns will now be challenging Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship. Last night’s episode of Raw ended with a rematch between Roman and Bobby Lashley with a chance to face Lesnar for his title at SummerSlam on the line. Reigns was able to avenge his loss at Extreme Rules and defeat Lashley to earn himself the title match against Lesnar at SummerSlam.

Another match that is now confirmed to be taking place during the show will be the second match between Kevin Owens and Braun Strowman. Owens won their Steel Cage match at Extreme Rules a few weeks ago after Strowman willingly cost himself the match by tossing Owens off the cage and down to the floor, but former Universal Champion will have the chance to defeat Strowman on his own terms at SummerSlam. It was confirmed during last night’s Raw show that Owens will win Strowman’s Money in the Bank briefcase if “The Monster Among Men” loses the match.
WOW. @FightOwensFight will have the chance to take EVERYTHING from @BraunStrowman at #SummerSlam, because if the #MonsterAmongMen loses in ANY way, Owens gets his #MITB contract! #RAW pic.twitter.com/PjAS13D9OR

Finally, it was also announced that Seth Rollins will be receiving another match against Dolph Ziggler for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam. This will be another rematch from Extreme Rules since Rollins previously lost an Iron Man match against Ziggler during that pay-per-view a few days ago.

More matches for the SummerSlam event are expected to be announced during tonight’s episode of Smackdown, including AJ Styles’ next challenger for the WWE Championship.
