Singapore has declared itself "honoured" after Donald Trump, the US president, confirmed on Thursday that he will meet Kim Jong-un, the North Korean leader, in the Asian city state in June.
In a phone call with Mr Trump on Friday, Lee Hsien Loong, the Singaporean prime minister, described the meeting as a "historic and momentous event" and promised it would be "smooth and successful." Attention is now turning to which venue will have the daunting task to ensure the most anticipated summit of the year runs to plan.
