Olympique de Marseille President Jacques-Henri Eyraud and Sporting Director Andoni Zubizarreta will travel to London tomorrow morning to meet with Premier League side West Ham United chiefs to agree a deal to sign Dimitri Payet.
OM have already had a bid worth around €25m rejected by the Hammers, but are seeking to find an agreement with West Ham to bring Payet back to the Ligue 1 club tomorrow, with the London outfit looking to agree a deal for around €40m.
West Ham United are already searching for a replacement for Payet, who was removed from the first team squad this week after manager Slaven Bilic insinuated that the French international had gone on strike, having sounded out Swansea’s attacking midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson. West Ham have been quoted a €35m price for the Icelandic international.
Marseille hope to have a total agreement for the transfer of Dimitri Payet in place this time tomorrow, with the Frenchman having already finalised terms with OM over a return.
The McCourt project’s biggest day so far is arguably about to begin.
