8-Time NWA World Champion Harley Race Passes Away at 76

Today we are saddened to report the passing of Harley Leland Race.

One of professional wrestling’s truest and greatest icons, his career spanned more than three decades, boasting eight separate reigns as NWA World Heavyweight Champion and numerous other accolades, including induction into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2004.

Race was 76-years-old at the time of his passing. “Nature Boy” Ric Flair, who Race passed the torch to in their famous 1983 steel cage match, confirmed back in March that the Missouri legend was struggling with lung cancer.
