7. Seth Rollins def. Baron Corbin to retain
After the match, Dean Ambrose came in and attacked Rollins. Finn Balor came out followed by Bobby Lashley. Then the entire locker room hit the ring for a huge brawl. Braun Strowman clears the ring and Rollins hit Corbin with a curb stop to close the show. It is worth noting that one of the superstars who came out during the brawl was Matt Hardy.
Former WWE Superstar, MVP recently spoke with Robbie E’s Why It Ended podcast and discussed creating his gimmick in WWE and more. Below are some highlights with a H/T to WrestlingInc.com for the transcriptions.
First meeting John Laurinaitis:
“I used to get booked as an extra for the WWE when they were coming to town”, said MVP. “And I remember roping Johnny Ace off one day and I’m like , ‘Hey Johnny, you got a minute? You got a minute?’ He said, ‘I’m busy kid.’ I said, ‘Johnny please, just one minute… just thirty seconds.’ ‘Busy kid.’ ‘Johnny give me 10 seconds.’ And he stops and goes, ‘Alright kid. What?’ ‘Just tell me what the f**k I got to do to get hired.’ I said it just like that. Johnny told me. He paused for a minute and looked at me like, ‘Do you know who the f**k I am, talking to me like that?’ The other part was he was kind of like, ‘This kid’s got some f**king balls alright.’ So he said, ‘Look, we like you. We just don’t have anything for you’.
Creating his WWE gimmick:
“Working down on South Beach, I came up with this idea. Hey man, very week you turn on SportsCenter, there’s some pro athlete saying or doing some stupid s**t or getting into a scuffle or getting suspended. Working down on South Beach I used to see these athletes show up and I’d see guys like Shaq, Dr. J, Jim Brown, Barry Sanders. Here are guys who are first ballot Hall of Famers, like legends. They’d be so cool and so humble and they’d stop to speak to you. They just conducted themselves differently. But then you see guys who are first round draft busts, guys second-third round in the draft or whatever. They’d show up with an entourage of fifteen people. We’ve got a dress code, but they’d show up with their shorts and sneakers just demanding s**t and go, ‘Hey man, do you know who I am? You better let me in.’ ‘Man, f**k you man. You haven’t scored a touchdown since you got drafted. F**k off.’ But, it triggered a light bulb and I realized, ‘Wait! That hasn’t been done in wrestling yet!’
Why Kenny Omega didn’t work in WWE:
“Regarding Omega, I think definitely with the way the developmental system was at the time – the way Bill was running it and sadly Vince McMahon’s mentality at that time – I don’t think Kenny would have thrived in the WWE arena because I remember specifically hearing when Vince was like, ‘If he’s under six feet tall and 200 pounds I don’t want to see him.’ There was that time when no little guys were getting signed because Vince wanted big guys. And six feet 200 pounds was the cut off.”
On #StPatricksDay The Duke of Cambridge, Colonel of the @irishguards, accompanied by The Duchess, visited 1st Battalion Irish Guards at the St Patrick’s Day Parade. Led by their mascot, the Irish Wolfhound Domhnall, 350 soldiers marched onto the Parade Square, where The Duchess presented the shamrock to Officers and Warrant Officers. PA

Damon Hill says a “feisty” performance by Mick Schumacher in the Hungarian Grand Prix showcased the Haas rookie’s promising “strength and ability” in F1.
Chaotic circumstances at the Hungaroring produced some unexpected outcomes at various stages of the race, one of which left Schumacher dicing with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen for the better part of ten laps.
The Haas driver was up against the Dutchman’s damaged RB16B, but Hill was still impressed by Schumacher’s gritty drive in the first part of the race.
“Bit of a feisty driver is Mick, banging wheels with Max,” commented Hill on the F1 Nation podcast.
“Max gave him a bit of a biff coming out of Turn 3, moved over on him and he’d [Verstappen] already lost his bargeboard on the right-hand side.

“Then he kind of gave Mick a bit of a nudge going into Turn 4, but Mick [was] putting up a very strong defense.
“With George Russell, I thought his move around the outside of Mick was incredibly brave. He gave no quarter at all. He [Mick] might be in a slower car, but he’s determined to fight so we’ll be keen to see how he develops.”
Hill believes Schumacher is making the most of modest Haas equipment and showing a character and skillset that should serve him well at the wheel of a more competitive car.
“[He] got a bit of limelight, it’s good,” added the 1996 F1 World Champion who went wheel-to-wheel with Mick’s legendary father, Michael Schumacher, more times than he cares to remember.
After coming face-to-face with Stephanie McMahon in an intense negotiation, the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman has reluctantly agreed to join Team Raw as they prepare for battle at this weekend’s Survivor Series pay-per-view — on two major conditions.
Strowman will partner with rivals Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre, as well as Finn Balor and a superstar to be named later, but he asked for two concessions from the Raw Commissioner.
First, in exchange for helping Team Raw score the victory at Survivor Series, Strowman has been guaranteed a future opportunity at Brock Lesnar at the Universal Championship. The two faced off recently at WWE Crown Jewel, but after interference from Baron Corbin, the “Beast Incarnate” walked away with the title.
Which brings us to his second deal… Strowman will get his hands on Corbin himself in a match at a future date, and when the two face off, it will be the monster who picks the stipulation for their encounter.
28-year-old Japanese prodigy and 13-time Stardom champion Io Shirai has finally arrived in a WWE NXT ring, making a surprise debut at tonight’s NXT Takeover: WarGames event in Los Angeles.
Io, who was the runner-up in this year’s Mae Young Classic tournament, came to the rescue during her best friend Kairi Sane’s match against Shayna Baszler for the NXT Women’s Championship, after Four Horsewomen members Marina Shafir and Jessamyn Duke made their presence felt in the bout.
While Io managed to connect with her signature sky-high moonsault, launching herself with precision and beauty from the top turnbuckle all the way to the floor, the “Queen of Spades” Baszler was still able to counter Sane’s top rope elbow drop, rolling her up to score the victory and retain her title.
NXT UK General Manager Johnny Saint has officially announced that the “Bruiserweight” Pete Dunne will defend his WWE UK Championship next week, as a part of a huge Wednesday afternoon double-header on the WWE Network.
Dunne has now held the title for more than 550 days (passing the year-and-a-half mark earlier this week) and will step into the ring against someone he knows very well — 28-year-old Jordan Devlin, who has promised to turn the NXT UK brand into “NXT Ireland” should he win the title.
Also announced for next week’s double-header is the finals of the ongoing NXT UK Women’s Championship tournament, as young Australian stand-outs Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm will collide to determine the inaugural champion.
Warrior Wrestling in Chicago Heights has announced that IMPACT Wrestling star Eddie Edwards will face Austin Aries. This match is notable, as Austin Aries has not been seen in IMPACT Wrestling since he no-sold the finish of the Bound For Glory main event and walked out on the company on Oct. 14th. The two will face off at Warrior Wrestling 3 on Jan. 5th.

SmackDown Women’s Champion, Becky Lynch continues to dominate the wrestling world and she has made history again this week.
ESPN posted its latest power rankings this week and for the first time in history, a woman has topped the billing as Becky Lynch has taken the top spot.
Lynch rose from being sixth to become the number one with Seth Rollins in second and Daniel Bryan in third, but the fact The Man finished as number one shows how hot she is right now.
Of course, Lynch saw the news and commented on social media claiming that whilst she has made history, she is only just getting warmed up.
Lynch will next defend her title at WWE TLC in a TLC match against both Charlotte Flair and Asuka in what is expected to be the main event.
The first woman ever to top the ESPN Power Rankings? You’re damn right I am, and we’re only getting warmed up. #IamTheMan https://t.co/5Gsf90baXM

Ladies and gentlemen, the true unbeaten MLW World Middleweight Champion, and the best damn promo in the business today, Mr. Maxwell Jacob Friedman!
We reached out to MJF to inform him that he had won this year’s award, and received the following statement in return: “Duh”. Mr. Friedman then demanded to be paid for his interview time, threatening our entire staff with a multi-million dollar lawsuit if we didn’t also purchase each of his shirts on Pro Wrestling Tees.
The check’s in the mail, sir.
