Kevin Owens Posts Photos of Stars Who WON’T be Appearing at WWE Extreme Rules Thanks to Shane McMahon

Kevin Owens is apparently not very happy about being left off this Sunday’s WWE Extreme Rules card, while Shane McMahon once again dominates another main event level match, as he teams with Drew McIntyre to take on The Undertaker and Roman Reigns, with No Holds Barred.

The former Universal Champion took to Twitter to post photos of a whole bunch of stars who WON’T be on this Sunday’s show, including Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor, the AOP, Liv Morgan, Shinsuke Nakamura, the Viking Raiders, Rey Mysterio, Kairi Sane, Asuka and Buddy Murphy.

Aaaaaand then things get weird. Among the photos were also some stars of wrestling’s past, including The Rock, Billy Kidman, Vlladmir Kozlov, and… Mantaur. This world really doesn’t deserve Kevin Owens.

So @WWE Extreme Rules 2019 is tomorrow night and to everyone’s absolute shock, Shane McMahon is on the show.

Seth Rollins vs Dolph ZIggler Set For WWE Raw, Becky Lynch in Action, Reigns & Joe to Meet in ‘Samoan Summit’

WWE has officially announced several matches and segments for the upcoming episode of Monday Night Raw, including a big main event singles match pitting the “Beast Slayer” Seth Rollins taking on Dolph Ziggler.

Rollins will be apparently be stepping up in defense of WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels, who was superkicked by ZIggler during a segment of Miz TV this past Tuesday night on Smackdown Live. HBK was a part of the group of legends that came to Rollins’ aid at Raw Reunion the night before, saving him from an attack from AJ Styles and The OC.

Also scheduled for Raw is a non-title match between Raw Women’s Champion Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss. The Man will be defending her throne at SummerSlam against Natalya, but their brawl this past week ended up taking out Bliss and Nikki Cross in a segment of A Moment of Bliss.

There will also be something called a “Samoan Summit”, where the “Big Dog” Roman Reigns and Samoa Joe will look to settle their beef in an in-ring meeting, following their explosive brawl on Monday Night Raw. Yeah… Good luck with that.

In addition to the list of Hall of Famers and legends confirmed for the show, the Staples Center in Los Angeles, which will host the festivities, is also advertising the “Beast Incarnate” Brock Lesnar to make an appearance, as well as Smackdown Women’s Champion Bayley.

In addition to “every major Superstar from Raw and Smackdown Live”, two matches are also being advertised. The first is Roman Reigns vs. Samoa Joe, and a big six-man tag team match between The New Day, including WWE Champion Kofi Kingston, taking on Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan and Rowan.

Leclerc: Vettel on his good days ‘incredibly difficult to beat’

Charles Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel suffered a few run-ins at Ferrari but overall, the pair enjoyed a good relationship, and the Monegasque admits that his former teammate, on his day, was “incredibly difficult to beat”.

Vettel’s tenure with the Scuderia extended to six seasons, the last two of which were spent alongside Leclerc.

Although the German failed in his quest to bring the world title back to the House of Maranello, Vettel’s track record with Ferrari nevertheless includes 14 wins with the Italian outfit.

In a recent Beyond the Grid podcast for Formula 1, Leclerc offered a comparison between Vettel and his current teammate Carlos Sainz and admitted that the former was a hard nut to crack.

“Seb, in his good days – I mean, the last year [in 2020] was more difficult for Seb, but in his good days, he was just incredible, and just incredibly difficult to beat, if not impossible,” said Leclerc.

“And Carlos is just very, very consistent, so it’s different approaches, but both of them were very, very strong.

“With Seb it was a little bit of a different relationship. I saw him a little bit more like an older brother.

“I mean, he had so much experience that it was different, it was not the same type of competition that I had with Seb than what I have with Carlos.

“With Carlos, we are more or less the same age, we are so competitive with everything. Seb had more experience, so he was a little bit… less competitive with everything.

“If I wanted to win something, he would basically a bit let me win this thing and I would be happy and he wouldn’t care.

“Then once you put on the helmet, this whole relationship stops. You just think about the performance, you just think about trying to extract the maximum from the car, and especially, beat the guy who has the same car as yours.”

As Ferrari – and the tifosi – transferred their infatuation from Vettel to Leclerc, signing up the Monegasque to a five-year deal while dismissing Vettel for 2021 even before the start of the 2020 season, a crumbling of the cordial relationship between the two drivers was expected.

But it never came to pass. In fact, Leclerc claims that despite the two drivers’ past clashes – in Brazil in 2019 and in Austria in 2020 – and the media’s need to fan the potential tensions, they always managed to maintain a good rapport.

“It wasn’t that hard actually,” said Leclerc. “I mean Brazil was probably the moment where it was quite difficult, but right after the race, only right after the race. Obviously with the heat of the moment, it’s not easy.

“Then I think the thing that was more difficult to manage is how much the media are coming into play and… trying to make things exciting, and trying to make people think there were actually tensions when there weren’t.

“We knew there weren’t tensions, but we were also asked at every race we came to whether there was tension, and I think we managed it very well.

“In Austria, I think it was quite straightforward, because whenever I do a mistake, I’m just putting my hand up, and that’s it.

“For Brazil, I had my opinion, he had his opinion, and we never really got the answer that we both wanted. So basically, it stayed like this. But we dealt with it very well and there were never any tensions.”

8/6 WWE Smackdown Viewership Back Up Heading Into SummerSlam

The August 6th edition of Smackdown Live was watched by an estimated 2.088 million viewers, up a solid 9.3% from the week before. Thus continues the back-and-forth flow of the Tuesday night blue brand viewership, which has essentially fluctuated between 1.8 and 2.2 million for the entire year, with very little exception.

Smackdown once again retook the top spot on cable this Tuesday evening, which drew a 0.63 rating in adults 18-49. The male demographic was strong as usual with a 0.8 rating, but female viewers were down to only a 0.46 this week. WWE is still having a hard time drawing the younger crowd, as adults 18-34  were only a 0.33.

Jack Swagger Mocks Goldberg For His WWE SummerSlam Performance; Goldberg Responds

It appears that Matt Riddle isn’t the only person who has a problem with Goldberg as former WWE Superstar, Jack Swagger mocked him during WWE SummerSlam.

Swagger claimed that if you are having a match at SummerSlam, you should be able to work, adding that he is sick of it, telling Goldberg that he could at least have kicked out of Ziggler’s Superkicks at two, rather than one.

The WWE Hall Of Famer did respond to Swagger, simply saying, “Easy kid.”

Maybe if u have a match on #summerfest, u should actually be able to work a match. @Goldberg . I’m tired of this shit…

In early August it was reported that WWE were in talks with FOX to bring a two-hour live edition of NXT to television on FS1, every Wednesday night at 8PM ET going head-to-head with All Elite Wrestling’s upcoming show on TNT.

An announcement about NXT’s future is expected to be made very soon. Meltzer confirmed that the idea is still a two-hour live show going head-to-head with AEW, but they may actually be attempting to get out in front of their new competition by launching before October 2.

WWE Smackdown will be moving to FOX on October 4 with the huge “20th Anniversary” special that will feature the returns of Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker, Brock Lesnar, Sting and many others, in addition to the entire Raw and Smackdown rosters. Obviously, having three shows on major television networks in primetime slots across the entire week would be a massive gain for WWE.
