Colt Cabana Wins Back National Heavyweight Title on NWA Powerrr

Colt Cabana is once again a champion in the National Wrestling Alliance.

The Chicago-born and beloved star defeated “The Cowboy” James Storm this Tuesday night on a new episode of NWA Powerrr to win the NWA National Heavyweight title for the very first time.

The match was incredibly chaotic, as both Ken Anderson and Eli Drake – two stars who believe they should be next in line – were ringside to watch the action first hand. Nick Aldis’ valet Kamille also got involved, adding to the madness, and in the end Cabana caught Storm with the Superman Pin to win the back and the title for the second time.

Cabana and Storm shook hands after the match, but it’s clear that things are far from over between them. The real question is, what the heck is going on with Kamille, Anderson and Eli Drake?

Zelina Vega Discusses Portraying AJ Lee In “Fighting With My Family”

WWE Raw Superstar, Zelina Vega recently spoke with the Cheap Heat podcast where she discussed portraying AJ Lee in “Fighting With My Family.” Below are some highlights from the interview with a H/T to WrestlingInc.com for the transcriptions.

“The funny thing is I have known AJ Lee. She started in New Jersey; I worked in New York. We have crossed paths and she was always great with me and always sweet to me but obviously I went one way and she went to WWE,” stated Vega. “But when I got the call initially I was on my sixth or seventh tryout with WWE and they kept saying not right now. I also had been trying out for a part in Spider-Man and I was texting Dwayne Johnson saying to him that I didn’t know what to do and he asked me to hold on for a moment, he may have something for me. When he told me that I was going to be playing the Divas Champion, of course, I wasn’t processing any of this yet, and then he said AJ Lee. I was like, oh my God, I can do this. I know I can do this. But you never really know until you step into that person’s shoes. He really showed me how to separate Thea Trinidad and step into AJ Lee.

“I remember at times during training he would say, okay, cut the promo right now. Talk like her, move like her, I want you to be AJ at this moment, go. You have to adapt and really feel how someone would be feeling in the moment and why. That is why I went to talk with a bunch of people she was working with at the time asking what the mindset was. What was she feeling at the time? A lot deeper than just a promo and a match, but that is something The Rock is really good at. Anyone who has seen his matches you see the passion that he does in everything that he does.”

WWE Reportedly Considering A Break Post-WrestleMania 36

According to a report by WrestleVotes, WWE is considering taking a break following WWE WrestleMania 36 this weekend due to the current situation.

WWE has already taped the post-WrestleMania episode of WWE Raw and WWE NXT, but after that nothing is currently shot. Florida officially issued a stay at home order this week, which is obviously going to play a major issue for WWE taping anything at the WWE Performance Center.

Because of that, it is very much unknown how things will go forwards for the company. According to WrestleVotes, the rumors last week were that if Florida did issue a stay at home order, WWE would consider taking a break.

Now that has happened, it will be interesting to see whether or not that does happen. It was also added that if WWE does take a break, the company will not show some footage that was shot for WWE Raw although everything is very much up in the air right now.

Rumors around the PC last week were that if the state of FL issued a Stay Home order, which happened today, WWE would reconsider taking a break post Mania. The RAW after is shot. I’ve been told if they are pausing for a while, some footage shot won’t be aired. TBD at this point.

Shotzi Blackheart & Tegan Nox make WWE SmackDown debut

Tegan Nox and Shotzi Blackheart made their debut on WWE SmackDown as a team, defeating the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions.

It was noted prior to the match that Natalya and Tamina would be facing a new team never seen before in WWE. The ring announcer introduced the new team as “Nox” and “Shotzi”, although Michael Cole on commentary referred to Nox as “Tegan” multiple times. Shotzi picked up the win for her team, pinning Natalya following a senton.

Both Nox and Shotzi have competed in dark matches prior to Raw and SmackDown in recent weeks as WWE prepares to return to the road later this month. Other names that have worked dark matches recently include Karrion Kross, Scarlett, Toni Storm, Bronson Reed, and Odyssey Jones.

Nox has just returned from a ACL injury suffered last August, returning on The Great American Bash episode of NXT this week. Her distraction cost The Way (Indi Hartwell and Candice LeRae) the NXT Women’s Tag Team titles. Shotzi Blackheart has teamed with Ember Moon in the past and together are former NXT Women’s Tag Team Champions, losing the belts to The Way back on May 4.

Formula 1 dresses up 2022 car with teams’ liveries

Formula 1 teams have released a collection of renderings that showcase each outfit’s livery transposed to next year’s radical new car.

F1 pulled the covers off its full size 2022 model on Thursday at Silverstone ahead of this weekend’s British Grand Prix.

There have already been a few off-the-record whispers in the paddock from some chief designers who have said that their 2022 charger will look quite different from F1’s profile-model as everyyone puts their own spin on Grand Prix racing’s new regs.

So have a look at the renderings that were published on social media by every team except, for some odd reason, Ferrari.

Kane Reveals What Match Would Interest Him Enough To Return

While promoting his upcoming book, “Mayor Kane,” the WWE Legend spoke with TVInsider where he revealed what might bring him back to the ring.

Kane revealed that even though they teamed up in Saudi Arabia, one more match alongside The Undertaker would be interesting to him.

“Even though Undertaker and I had a match with DX that has never happened before, it would be great to reunite the Brothers of Destruction,” he told Scott Fishman of TVInsider. “That is always so special. That would be for me the ultimate thing.”

As well as that, Kane discussed how hard it is to protect gimmicks in today’s climate, with social media and other platforms.

“It has become harder because there is so much more content and exposure demanded. We look at the internet and social media and all the different platforms we are competing against. One of the things that frustrated me is that we move so quickly sometimes it felt like you weren’t getting the depth of the storyline because you just had to put stuff out and things would get lost. That’s the nature of the business.”

The last time Kane was involved in a WWE angle, it was to put over The Fiend, and he spoke about how Bray Wyatt is proving it can be done still.

“You look at a guy like Bray Wyatt who has done a phenomenal job. That character has really taken off. It’s difficult. I think it’s harder than ever to get into that kind of patient story-telling. It’s an unfortunate evolution of the business. But I think what Bray Wyatt shows is that we have a performer who can do it and given the opportunity, it’s still something that strikes a chord with people. To me, that’s one of the best parts of the wrestling business is the stories. Sometimes they get sacrificed a little bit to keep the machine going. So it’s nice to see a guy like Bray have that opportunity to really get over as a character in a unique storyline.”
