CM Punk Says He Doesn't Miss Pro Wrestling, Talks About His UFC Status

“The Best In The World” doesn’t appear to be missing the squared circle.

CM Punk recently appeared as a guest on ESPN Radio out of his hometown of Chicago, Illinois and was asked whether or not there is any part of him that misses professional wrestling.

“Not at all,” said Punk, who made his Octagon debut back in September of 2016, losing to MMA rookie Mickey Gall in one round at the UFC 203 pay-per-view in Cleveland, Ohio.

Additionally, Punk mentioned that WWE has sent lawyers and people by proxy after him because they’re upset with him “calling them out on their B.S.,” bringing up the issue with WWE senior ringside physician Dr. Chris Amann as an example.

While it doesn’t appear he has any interest in a WWE return just yet, Punk is still hoping for a second chance to compete inside the world-famous Octagon.

During the same ESPN Radio appearance, Punk noted that he believes he’ll know what his future in the UFC looks like within the next month or two.

Great Khali's Status, Chris Jericho Update, Darren Young Expected Back Soon

  • The Great Khali was not at Smackdown after Battlegrund and he is not advertised for any WWE shows moving forward, so his status with WWE remains unclear. However, with WWE still trying to get Jinder Mahal over in India with the ultimate goal to increase business, Khali could be used in that capacity as he is a legitimate well-known star in that country.

  • Darren Young, who has been sidelined due to a shoulder injury, is expected back in action next month.

Jeff Hardy Talks Splitting Time Between WWE & Music, If Matt Hardy Helps & More

WWE Superstar Jeff Hardy recently spoke with WWE.com for an interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On splitting time between his band Peroxwhy?gen and his wrestling career: “It’s hard, man, [on] days like that Monday Night Raw in Nashville. We did that show after our latest CD – ‘Precession of the Equinoxes,’ which is available now at JeffHardyBrand.com – came out. It was a tough day: We wrestled The Revival, got beat, and then I had to get ready and sing 14 songs. It’s tough, but I think moving forward, we’re gonna try to do a show at least once a month in towns near and around Nashville.”

On whether or not his brother Matt Hardy ever contributes to any of his music: “I’ve tried my best! Matt has written so many cool raps back in the day. I’ve said, ‘Man, let’s just get in the studio and record a brotherly song! I’ll try to do my little alternative abstract rock and you come in with a bridge rap at the end.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, man,’ but he’s also said he’s gonna get ‘Hardy Boyz’ tattooed on his neck and it hasn’t happened yet, so I don’t know if we’ll ever write a song together. Still, for him to come out and support me that night meant the world. We’ve been through so much, and for us to be back in WWE doing what we’re doing now, and have my music going the way it is, it’s the best to have his support.”

On the goals he has for his band: “I actually had the opportunity to play the [Vans] Warped Tour this month, two Carolina dates. I was so scared to commit; I knew I was coming back to WWE, but it was before we made our return. I was like, ‘I can’t really commit to that; should I ask somebody?’ I kept putting it off and putting it off until finally, I said, ‘All right, there’s no more time.’ But, starting now, my goal is to play the Warped Tour next summer – a couple of days in the Carolinas or Tennessee. As far as wrestling, it’s to keep on rockin’ and maybe perform at one of the pay-per-views these days. Maybe write a song for one.”

Shane Douglas Compares White House Leaks To Wrestling, Talks Dudleyz' Symbol

ECW Original and former WWE and WCW Superstar Shane Douglas recently appeared as a guest on The Two Man Power Trip Of Wrestling podcast for an in-depth interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On the leaks coming out of the White House being comparable to the “dirt sheets” (newsletters / websites) in the pro wrestling business: “Absolutely. It is the same exact thing because you could never point it because wrestle is obviously quite smaller community so if you really worked at it you could try to boil it down to a couple of names or faces. I want everyone that is listening to this podcast….go on and Google the word “sedition“. Sedition as per the U.S. Constitution and see what it says it is something along the lines of and I’m not going to get the words exactly right but it is somebody using words or unproven deeds to undermine a legitimate government. If that doesn’t speak to what we are seeing right now like for instance there is this big things now that even Republicans are trying to protect (Former F.B.I Director) Mueller and I agree the judiciary has to be separate but if he can’t put up some proof and not about Trump’s finances or his son in law’s finances or business dealings, if Mueller can’t put up some kind of collusion that changed the election in favor of Donald Trump than he should be fired for wasting tax payer dollars on this. It is the exact same thing as what used to be leaked in an albeit far less important arena.”

On whether or not The Dudley Boyz asked to use their famous three-finger salute, which was the hand symbol of the Triple-Threat faction in the original ECW: “Full disclosure. Mark LoMonaco (Bubba Ray) came to me and I think it was the first time or the first few times they used it they didn’t realize it or didn’t think about it but he did come to me and say that he apologized, asked about them using it and my exact words to him were something along the lines of: “Hey, do whatever you have to do to get over.” Bubba was very professional with it and absolutely no heat whatsoever. I’ve never been asked that question because the “three fingers” was so ubiquitous to the Triple Threat but nobody has ever asked that question.

“Bubba was very professional with it and I am proud of everything that Bubba and Devon have done in the business. They have really proven themselves outside of a what I think on paper would have been a difficult gimmick to get over and they did a great job with it because they are both damn good workers.”

“I wasn’t annoyed about it because Bubba was a professional and asked. If somebody just started doing it and I think we all know that the Franchise probably should have fired something back and it is the same thing with John Cena. The few times that I’ve met him he’s always seemed like a good guy, very professional but I never would want to just start calling myself “The Nature Boy” or “The Living Legend” or whatever other gimmick or gimmick name out there. To me it is unprofessional to go out in that way but the way Bubba and Devon did it was very professional and aside from that they were friends of mine. We were all working in ECW to get the company over and in anyway I didn’t think The Triple Threat especially was boiled down to just a hand signal. We had multiple incarnations of it and of course the Bam Bam / Chris Candido / Franchise / Francine incarnation is the one that made the biggest impact because of the time that was involved and the timing of the company to be quite honest.”

Bobby Roode Likely Headed to WWE Main Roster in Near Future

— According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the fact that the NXT show on Saturday showed Daniel Bryan and Kurt Angle in the skybox scouting talent clearly means that some talent is going to be moving to the main roster and there will also likely be other changes to NXT in the near future.

— Bobby Roode is the most logical wrestler to be moving to either Raw or Smackdown as the company is “super high” on him right now and no matter which brand he ends up with, Meltzer speculates that he will be a “top five guy” on the roster.

— The Authors of Pain, who dropped the NXT tag team titles, also look to be headed out of NXT and onto WWE, whereas SAnitY looks to be staying put for the time being.

Sean Waltman On Turning Down Match With Jericho, Being A "Dumbass" In WWE

Former WWE Superstar Sean “X-Pac” Waltman recently appeared as a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s weekly podcast, The Steve Austin Show, for an in-depth interview. Below are some of the highlights.

On some of the things he feels he could have done to improve his WWE career: “I think, for me, I should have worked harder on my mic skills and I should have been a lot easier to deal with and I would have been pushed a lot better. I was really… I was really, with my first run there, I felt like I let a lot of stuff happen there that I shouldn’t have and so I overcompensated for it when I came back. If I thought anybody was messing with me, I was difficult. And also, I didn’t allow them to work me more than 15 days a month and when you do that, then it kind of takes a lot of the opportunities off the table.”

On turning down WWE’s offer to have the Red Hot Chilli Peppers perform his theme music and turning down a WrestleMania match with Chris Jericho: “I was always a contrarian. I’m going to give you an example and I might’ve told you this one because I’ve told it several times of an example of what a dumbass I was. Shane McMahon comes up to me, ‘yeah, we’re going to have just the Red Hot Chili Peppers do your theme music.’ I’m like, ‘no, I want Uncle Kracker.’ I mean, come on, man.” “another one, it was Vince and Shane, ‘we’re thinking of having you work Jericho at ‘Mania for the I.C. belt.’ I’m like, ‘no, I want to finish my program with Kane, which was already way on its last legs, Steve, but ‘no, I want to do this.’ So I mean, do that give you an example?”

On which WWE Superstar from today, if any, he would trade bodies with if possible: “Randy Orton. That’s just [off the top of Waltman’s head]. I mean, there [are] several other guys I could think of, but, Randy, okay, Randy Orton. Man, talk about good genetics.”

Potential Spoiler on Return for Tonight's Raw

— PW Insider is reporting that the Revival – Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder – are backstage at Raw and are expected to make their return on TV tonight.

— The duo has not been seen on TV since August when Dawson suffered a bicep injury which required surgery. Prior to that, Wilder was out of action with a broken jaw, so both injuries have significantly contributed to them not being on TV. According to sources, Revival was headed for a major push before their latest setback.
