WWE Raw Viewership Continues Upswing Heading Into Royal Rumble

— Last night’s WWE Raw continued its week-over-week increase, generating an average audience of 3.29 million viewers, up slightly from last week’s 3.26 million. The factors that affected the increase – very weak nightly competition and it was a loaded show heading into the PPV.

— Hourly numbers:

* Hour One – 3.31 million
* Hour Two – 3.46 million
* Hour Three – 3.11 million

— Only Goldberg was heavily pushed as being on the show, with Brock Lesnar teased and Undertaker’s appearance a surprise so the third hour drop is disappointing yet may have been minimized had WWE advertised Lesnar and Taker.

— Look for next week’s post-Rumble show to challenge for the highest rated Raw since the brand split, which if memory serves me correct was the night after SummerSlam at just under 3.5 million.

Jim Ross Comments On CM Punk & Ronda Rousey Possibly Working With WWE

WWE Hall Of Famer Jim Ross recently spoke with ABC 15 Arizona and gave his thoughts on the possibility of CM Punk returning to WWE.

“I would be shocked if he came back to WWE,” Ross said. “However — and he might disagree with this — I would not be shocked if he came back and did a wrestling gig. Maybe New Japan, something along those lines. There’s a lot of talk of other groups that are looking to get their toe in the water.”

Ross continued, “McMahon’s got the monopoly, and they do a phenomenal job. They’re the big dog in the yard, so other dogs now are barking. We’ll see how it comes about. I don’t think Punk would ever go back to WWE, but I could be wrong. They could hug and make up.”

During the interview, the legendary wrestling announcer also spoke about UFC mega-star Ronda Rousey possibly turning up at a WrestleMania event again in the future — possibly with her buddy Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

“I do think she has a lot more left in the tank. I think she’s very marketable,” Ross said. “I don’t think she’d ever go to WWE and be a regular (but) I could see her coming to WWE and doing a big one-off event like at a Wrestlemania or something, without question.

“Those two losses in a real sport have nothing to do with a fictional sport. (WWE chairman Vince) McMahon is the P.T. Barnum of this era. If anybody can get Ronda Rousey hot, relevant and a must-see, it’s Vince. I think she’s got a lot left in the tank, plus let’s not forget she’s buddies with The Rock, so there’s some synergy there that you would not pass up.”

Video: WWE Looks At Seth Rollins' Recent Cryptic Messages To Triple H

In a new video released by WWE via their official YouTube channel on Thursday afternoon, WWE broadcast team member Cathy Kelley takes a look at Seth Rollins’ recent “cryptic posts” regarding Triple H.

The first post showed Triple H raising Seth Rollins’ hand when he became the first-ever NXT World Champion. The quote for that photo reads: “Without pain, without sacrifice we would have nothing. Like the first monkey shot into space.”

Second up was a shot of a smiling HHH looking at Rollins, who was still in his Shield gear, fresh after he turned on his former friends Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose to join The Authority. The quote that accompanied that photo reads: “At the time, my life just seemed too complete, and maybe we have to break everything to make something better out of ourselves.”

Finally, the most recent Instagram post from “The Architect” features he and Triple H embracing behind-the-scenes after Rollins won the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. The quote along with that photo reads: “You know how they say you only hurt the ones you love? Well, it works both ways.”

Check out Rollins’ “cryptic posts” regarding Triple H below.

Smart Money Odds for Tonight's WWE Fastlane PPV

The current odds for WWE at this time can be considered “projected
outcomes” or “smart money odds” and while there are long odds on some
of the matches, many are much closer. In particular, the Raw Women’s
Championship is so close this could end being a no contest. At the most
recent WWE Pay Per View, Nikki Bella and Natalya in a double count out. The
sports book taking these wagers canceled the bet and refunds were issued.
This is how issues like this are handled. Charlotte is slightly favored at
-160 but at one point was heavily favored at -1750. Charlotte Flair’s
streak of being undefeated on PPV is believed by many to end at
Wrestlemania next month for a Mania moment and a non-finish here would not
contaminate Charlotte’s current streak. The cruiserweight tag of Swann
and Tozawa vs Kendrick and Dar is very close and this is because it’s a
pre-show match and not much money was put on it compared to the Women’s
Championship.

The Raw Tag champs of Gallows and Anderson are favored to retain -560 and
the challengers Enzo and Cass are rumored to have the big title win at
Wrestlemania in Orlando where they spent so much time in NXT. Neville is
also favored to retain his championship at -615 in the cruiserweight
division.

The heaviest odds favorites are Goldberg at -2000 to beat Kevin Owens.
Originally an underdog in the early lines, Nia Jax is favored at -1700 to
win against Sasha Banks. Early bets on Nia could end up paying off and
these early bets are what has driven Nia’s favorablility.

At -1625, Samoa Joe is thought of as a lock to beat Sami Zayn and Braun
Strowman is at -1200 to beat Roman Reigns. Some sports books are also
offering odds of 1/2(67%) that the Undertaker will interfere in Roman vs
Braun. The speculation driving this is that this will be to further set up
Roman vs Taker at Wrestlemania

There are separate lines available for “initial ruling” and “end of
broadcast” grading. The initial ruling grading was just added and as of
know both sets of lines are identical and any significant variance that
emerges would suggest a “Dusty Finish would happen. Keep an eye on these
and these lines can be followed by anyone.

WWE Universal Championship
Kevin Owens(c) +1000 vs Goldberg -2000

WWE Raw Women’s Championship
Bayley(c) +120 vs Charlotte Flair -160

WWE Raw Tag Team Championship
Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson(c) -560 vs Enzo Amore & Big Cass +370

WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Neville -615 vs Jack Gallagher +405

Roman Reigns +600 vs Braun Strowman -1200 (Undertaker has odds of -200 to
show up at ringside)

Sami Zayn +775 vs Samoa Joe -1625

Sasha Banks +800 vs Nia Jax -1700

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa -215 vs The Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar +165

Nikki Bella Talks Rumors Of John Cena Proposing To Her, Another WWE Hiatus

Nikki Bella took some time out recently to speak with Brian Fritz for an exclusive video interview at BetweenTheRopes.com to promote this Sunday’s WrestleMania 33 pay-per-view, where she and John Cena take on another real-life WWE couple, The Miz and Maryse.

During the interview, the star of Total Bellas addressed recent rumors regarding the possibility of John Cena proposing to her after Sunday’s show at Camping World Stadium.

“I guess I just kind of learn to ignore it,” said Bella. “Because one, I don’t want to get my hopes up. And two, we were on the Today Show this past week and they told me there’s a bet going on in Vegas. There’s a real bet. John is like ‘Who bets on the WWE? Don’t ever bet on the WWE!” And it was like heartbreak, like see, I knew it wasn’t going to happen!”

Additionally, Bella spoke about the talk of her taking another break from WWE competition to deal with another nagging neck issue.

“It’s doing okay,” said Bella. “I have a slight herniation above where I had surgery. I just got cleared by my surgeon Wednesday, so I’m good to go. I was supposed to be on a loop of live events.”

Bella continued, “When I got taken off everyone was like ‘What’s happening?’ But I’m good. I kind of sprained my neck, and we found out some other stuff is going on, so I’m definitely going to have to take some time to heal that. But I’m cleared. I’m competing at WrestleMania.”

Paris began staging runway shows again in fall, while in the summer they took a digital approach to showing the Paris Men’s shows in an effort to curtail any rising coronavirus numbers.
