Video: Tony Romo Makes Georgia Woman's Birthday Fantasy Come True

BUFORD, GA — CBS Super Bowl broadcaster and former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was in Atlanta for the Super Bowl over the weekend and made one Gwinnett County fan the happiest woman in the world. She was so happy, she was crying while he was signing the jersey she was wearing.

Emily Masker, of Buford, Ga., noticed a promotional event Romo was going to be a part of during Super Bowl weekend and jumped on Facebook to tell producers she had a birthday coming up, her 30th, and it would make it the best birthday ever if she could have a picture taken with Romo and have him sign her Tony Romo Cowboys football jersey.

“I had posted a comment on the Facebook page stating that my birthday was coming up in two months and that the best present would be to meet him and have him sign my jersey,”said Masker. “When they read my comment I couldn’t believe it. It was such an amazing moment — a birthday present that is simply priceless and unforgettable. He was even nicer than I could have imagined!

“I grew up loving the Cowboys but my love grew more when Romo took over,” Masker said. “There was just something magical about him on the field and how charismatic he is, so as soon as I heard that he was hosting an event I knew I had to go!”

Masker said she would be framing the signed jersey and it’s a memory she’ll have forever.

Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo retired after the 2016 season following a preseason back injury after a 14-year playing career. He immediately began a new career as a broadcaster for CBS, teaming with Jim Nantz in the broadcast booth. Romo, who was with the Cowboys for his entire 14 seasons, holds several Cowboys team records, including passing touchdowns, passing yards, most games with at least 300 passing yards and games with three or more touchdown passes.
