Ring of Honor has confirmed another part of the schedule for their Pure title tournament.
The quarterfinals of the tournament will take place when ROH returns to New York City on Thursday, April 23. The show is being held at Terminal 5 and is named ROH Battlestarr 2020.
It was announced at the end of last month that — after the title had been dormant since 2006 — ROH is bringing back the Pure Championship. First-round matches will take place at Pure Excellence night one in Columbus, Ohio on Friday, April 10 and Pure Excellence night two in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on Saturday, April 11.
ROH hasn’t revealed the participants for the tournament or announced when the semifinals and finals will be happening.
Pure title matches featured rules where “closed-fist punches were illegal, and each competitor was allowed three rope breaks to stop submission holds and pinfalls during the match; after that, pinfalls and submission holds on or under the ropes would be legal.”
Tickets for Battlestarr 2020 will go on sale to HonorClub members at 10 a.m. Eastern time next Wednesday (February 19) and to the general public next Friday (February 21).
