Dr Kafeel Khan, who was made the scapegoat by Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh government to hide their monumental administrative failure in Gorakhpur’s hospital tragedy, is now battling bankruptcy.
Dr Kafeel was languishing in Jail since September 2017 in connection with the death of infants last August in BRD Hospital allegedly due to lack of oxygen. He was granted bail by the Allahabad High Court in April 2018.
While he was hailed as the hero of the country for his last-minute hard work to arrange oxygen cylinders for the hospital and save a few lives, he was branded a villain by the government and framed in a corruption case, attempt to commit culpable homicide, criminal breach of trust and criminal conspiracy.
