With the ROH/NJPW Show at Madison Square Garden next year selling out almost immediately, it was a setback for WWE for two reasons – the first, that the show was allowed to happen in the first place after the company thought that they had blocked it and second, that it sold out so quickly.
With eight months left before the event, there is always a chance that WWE will retaliate by trying to pry key talent away and two ways they could do that is by offering a lighter schedule for wrestlers who aren’t keen on working a ton of dates (which WWE can do now since house shows are not a huge source of revenue anymore) and of course, by just offering them more money and outbidding everyone else.
