Let’s all get real for a second here and admit that there are some styles that are timeless (think: the LBD) and some that are, well, not (we’re looking at you, ’80s perms).
But denim? Denim is unquestionably the former, even when taken to the most extreme of extremes like the fashion situation that happened on the 2001 American Music Awards red carpet with Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake.

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher might agree, since they are taking those casual jeans vibes from their predecessors (hat sadly not included) and putting their own 2018 spin on it.

The star couple matched their fashion for date night at a Beyoncé and Jay-Z concert, and while they kept things characteristically casual, their looks still hit a nostalgic note. Kunis’s Lauren Moshi jacket and Timerlake’s own aren’t actually that far off, so we’ve got to give her serious props for proving that the Britney/Justin moment is iconic for a reason.
Now if only we could resurrect the denim gown …
