Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remains coy on Red Bull Salzburg striker Erling Haaland transfer links

Reports on the weekend claimed Haaland has told Solskjaer United are his first-choice club to join.

During his time in charge of Norwegian club Molde, the Red Devils boss signed the 19-year-old from Bryne in 2017.

When asked about United’s reported interest in Haaland, who has also been linked with moves to Juventus and Liverpool, Solskjaer said: “No, I can’t say.

“I don’t want to speculate on other team’s players.

“We keep on looking for players who fit the mould of Man United with the personality and the quality.

“But we’re developing a few of our own, as well.”

Solskjaer was speaking after United’s 1-1 draw with Everton on Sunday as Mason Greenwood’s 77th-minute equaliser cancelled out Victor Lindelof’s own goal.

It was the Red Devils academy graduate’s eighth goal of the season, and his second in the Premier League.

Solskjaer was full of praise for the 18-year-old, who helped extend United’s unbeaten league run to six games.

He said: “He’s a special goalscoring talent, I’m very pleased with his goal. We know he can do it.
