The cross border firing and ceasefire violations control unabated at the Line of Control. This time an army major along with a soldier rifleman were killed in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast on Friday.
Major Shashidharan V Nair and soldier Jivan Gurung were killed along the LoC in Nowshera sector of Rajouri, local media reported. Mortal remains of the Major were brought back to his home in Khadakwasla today morning after a Wreath laying ceremony that took place at Pune War Memorial on January 12.
While both the army personnel were given immediate medical aid, they succumbed to their injuries later. ANI reported that the explosive device was planted by Border Action Team of Pakistan army with the aid from militants on the LoC.
