So good that they have remarkably taken 64 points from a possible 66 so far, making the best-ever start to a season by a club in Europe’s top-five leagues.
Two seasons ago Manchester City broke all sorts of records to amass an unprecedented 100 points in the Premier League.
But if Jurgen Klopp’s men continue at their current rate then that total will surely be broken and there will be another set of ‘Centurions’ in our midst.
They claimed another win this weekend, seeing off Manchester United 2-0 in front of a jubilant Kop. And stats show just how dominant Liverpool have been in comparison to the rest of the league.
If Liverpool and their closest rivals all continue to gather points at their current rates, the European champions will win the Premier League title on the weekend of March 14-15 – an away clash at Everton in the Merseyside derby – smashing the earliest title win record by a whole MONTH.
City are Liverpool’s nearest rivals at the moment and if both win all their upcoming games, the Reds would clinch the title at their Etihad clash on April 4 which would also be a record.
Regardless, Klopp’s side know that 10 wins from their remaining 16 fixtures would see them crowned champions.
