Jacks prepare for Big 12 Championship

The South Dakota State University wrestling team will make its first-ever appearance in the Big 12 Wrestling Championship, competing Saturday and Sunday in Kansas City, Missouri.

A total of 100 wrestlers will compete in the two-day event at Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City. The Big 12 Wrestling Championship schedule is as follows:

Saturday, March 5

Preliminary rounds of the tournament will be available for viewing live and on-demand through FloWrestling.org. The final round is scheduled to be televised live on FOX Sports regional networks.

From the field of 100 wrestlers, 36 will receive automatic berths to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships March 17-19 in New York City. The top three wrestlers in each of the 10 weight classes will earn a trip to nationals, with additional allocations awarded to the following weight classes: 125 (6 total allocations); 133 (4); 174 (4), and 197 (4).

An additional 46 at-large qualifiers from across eight Division I wrestling conferences will be announced on March 9 to fill out the 330-wrestler field for the NCAA Championships.

All-session tickets start at $40, with premium seating priced at $60 and VIP seats available for $100. Single-day tickets, which cover both sessions, start at $24, with premium seating priced at $36 and VIP seats available for $60.
