Borussia Dortmund ‘ready to sell Jadon Sancho’ after beating Manchester United to Erling Haaland signing

Dortmund beat United and a host of top European clubs to the surprise signing of Haaland on Sunday, with the 19-year-old Norwegian striker signing a four-and-a-half year deal.

It is claimed a number of teams were prepared to pay the youngster’s relatively cheap £17.1 million release clause, and Man United had put the biggest contract on the table.

But Haaland opted for Dortmund as he believes he has the best chance to continue his progression with the German side.

Other claims suggest United pulled out of the running for the striker over frustrations with his agent, Mino Raiola.

But it appears any disappointment over the failed transfer could be short-lived, as Haaland’s arrival has cast fresh doubt on Sancho’s future at the Westfalenstadion.

According to The Times, Dortmund are now ready to listen to offers for the England winger ahead of the summer transfer window.

Sancho’s contract is due to expire in 2022 and Dortmund are apparently aware the teenager wants to return to the Premier League, with plenty of interested suitors.

And the report claims Dortmund may want to cash in on the forward next summer, putting a £100million price tag on the Englishman.

United have been linked with a strong interest in the 19-year-old, as have his former club Manchester City, who sold him to Germany for just £8m in 2017.

Premier League leaders Liverpool have been linked with an interest, too, with Jurgen Klopp said to be an admirer of the winger.

But Real Madrid and Barcelona are also rumoured to be keen, and The Times claim Sancho is ‘intrigued’ by the prospect of a possible move to Spain.

Sancho has been in fine form this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 24 games for Dortmund.
