Trials Party Benefitting NE Distance at Rhode Runner 7-1

US Trials Party to benefit NE
Distance July 1, 2012 at Rhode Runner Providence

Providence, May 15, 2012:  Track and field fans can gather to watch
the final night of the US Olympic Trials while helping to send local runners to
the next trials.  Rhode Runner, 657
North Main Street in Providence will be hosting a party on July 1, 2012 from
6-9 pm in their community room to benefit NE Distance, a new distance project
starting this fall.

NE Distance, Inc. will provide fellowships for post-collegiate
runners committed to representing their community and reaching a higher level
of competition.  NE Distance
runners will be living in Woonsocket training to represent New England in
national and international competitions.

Through a partnership with NeighborWorks Blackstone Valley (http://www.neighborworksbrv.org/)
and the Woonsocket After-School Coalition (http://woonsocketafterschool.org/),
athletes will be matched with one of several after-school youth organizations.
Working 16 to 20 hours per week will allow the runners to be involved with the
community while being paid for their time.‰Ûª

‰ÛÏAt the party, we‰Ûªll be showing the live finals of the 1500 meter
events and then taped races from earlier in the week‰Û, says NE Distance
President, Nich Haber.  ‰ÛÏWe‰Ûªll have
some great auction items available including an autographed singlet of US
Olympian and 2011 Boston Marathon runner-up Desiree Davila, courtesy of Brooks.‰Û

Suggested donation of $20 in advance or $30 the day of the
event.  More information is
