Jose Mourinho insists he won’t ask Daniel Levy to sign a new striker in January transfer window despite Harry Kane’s injury

Speaking after the 1-0 defeat to Liverpool on Saturday, the Tottenham manager insisted he has enough in his current squad to get by until his star forward Harry Kane returns from injury.

Kane was ruled out until April with a hamstring problem earlier in the week, but when asked if he’ll be requesting a replacement be signed, Mourinho told talkSPORT’s Sam Matterface: “No.

“I think Daniel Levy today is proud of the players because of what the players did.

“He’s proud of one kid [Japhet Tanganga] that come from the academy and showed the world he is a new player for the Premier League level.

“And Daniel Levy always tries to do the best for the club and he’ll do what he thinks is the best and what he thinks is possible.”
