If he were to move to north London, the Frenchman would be in competition with the likes of Sokratis Papastathopoulos, who scored Arsenal’s second goal against the Red Devils. Nicolas Pepe scored the other.

Umtiti, who plays his club football for Barcelona, has been in and out of their first-team this season having only made seven appearances in all competitions.
However, he was out with a foot injury for a month and a knee injury for another two weeks.
Barca return to action from the winter break on Saturday.
It seems unlikely Umtiti will be coming to England this window as he’s contracted at the Spanish giants until June 2023.
Arsenal are in more need of defensive reinforcements with Calum Chambers confirmed to be out injured for six to nine months.
They have been linked with the likes of Red Bull Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano and Juventus man Daniele Rugani.
