This is according to Gunners legend Lee Dixon, who believes both players and fans are responding to Arteta less than a fortnight after his appointment as Unai Emery’s successor.
While it has been a mixed bag for Arsenal results wise since Arteta’s appointment – with one win, one draw and one defeat – the performances have come in for praise.
There are still areas to be worked on, but for 45 minutes against Chelsea and about an hour in the defeat of Man United, Arsenal looked like a top-class side who would be a match for anyone.
Whether this is simply the famed ‘new manager bounce’ or Arteta having a real long-term impact on Arsenal remains to be seen, but the early signs are positive.
And Dixon feels there is something different about the Gunners with Arteta in charge – and this positivity and belief has infected all at the Emirates.
“I don’t want to go overboard on his progress three games in, but there are definitely signs,” Dixon told Thursday’s Sports Breakfast.
“The Emirates hasn’t been like that in many years – it almost sent goose bumps down my spine.”
