Freddie Ljungberg remains coy when asked if he wants Arsenal job on permanent basis after Norwich draw

The Swede was placed in interim charge following Friday’s sacking of Unai Emery.

When asked if he wanted to succeed Emery permanently, Ljungberg told talkSPORT’s Ian Abrahams: “What I’m doing is helping the club I’ve been for 20 years with and that comes day by day.”

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scored twice at Carrow Road as Ljungberg’s first game ended in a draw thanks to Todd Cantwell’s equaliser just before half-time.

The result extended Arsenal’s winless run to eight games as their defensive frailties were exposed yet again on Sunday.

Ljungberg admitted a draw was a fair result.

He said: “I always want to win, so I am disappointed we didn’t win.
