Chelsea news: Ruben Loftus-Cheek explains why Europa League glory would taste better than 2017 Premier League title

The Chelsea midfielder, in fact, feels as though he’s still searching for the first major trophy of his career, despite collecting a Premier League winners’ medal in 2017.

He made six appearances during Antonio Conte’s first season, which was just enough to qualify for a medal.

Now, though, he’s finally having a real impact – and if Chelsea lift the Europa League, he’ll be a major part of the reason.

The 23-year-old academy graduate helped send Chelsea through to the final with a well-taken goal during the 1-1 draw with Eintracht Frankfurt, which the Blues eventually won on penalties.

It was his tenth goal of the season, his fourth in Europe – and he admits Europa League glory would be the highlight of his career so far.

“I’ve won the Premier League, but it didn’t feel the same. I didn’t have a contribution to it,” he told talkSPORT.
