Newcastle make €8m offer to PSG for Stanley N’Soki

Get French Football News can confirm reports from this morning’s L’Équipe that Premier League side Newcastle United have made an €8m offer to sign PSG defender Stanley N’Soki.

Les Parisiens have set a €15m asking price for the 20-year-old French youth international defender, with AS Roma and Lazio constantly in contact with PSG over a potential deal.

Sources contacted by Get French Football News understand that Newcastle United entered back into conversations about two weeks ago with PSG, after Rafa Benitez pushed hard to sign N’Soki already last summer.

Back then, N’Soki did not want to move to the Premier League, feeling that it was too early in his career to do so. But now, one year on, the Frenchman wants to leave PSG at all costs.

With one year remaining on his current contract, he is willing to move to Newcastle, who have presented the player with a highly enticing sporting project.

However, negotiations over personal terms are understood to be some way off from concluding positively, but Newcastle are in pole position to land N’Soki this summer and will have to continue to negotiate with PSG over a fee.

Sporting Director Leonardo has told people close to him, according to L’Équipe, that he would sell for €12m.

Sources tell Get French Football News that a proposal of €10m plus add-ons should be enough to convince the Ligue 1 champions to sell.

Sources also tell Get French Football News that another Premier League has made a verbal offer to PSG for the player this summer. That side was Southampton, whose proposal was an initial loan. This doesn’t work for PSG, with N’Soki only having 12 months remaining on his deal. In order for this formula to work, PSG would require N’Soki to sign a contract extension, which he is not willing to do.

Les Parisiens have no intention of allowing N’Soki to leave for nothing next summer.

Newcastle United have followed the player since he was 16, and Steve Bruce and Lee Charnley are both in agreement about going after N’Soki again this summer.

There are a multitude of other European clubs interested in acquiring N’Soki’s services, but they are aware that they cannot compete with Premier League sides and are waiting until the English market closes on August 8th.
