LOOK: Kofi Kingston Takes His Place in WWE’s Hall of Champions

WWE has added Kofi Kingston to its Hall of Champions. The newly crowned WWE champion was featured in a photoshoot on the company’s website, where he posed with the title.

Kofi takes his place on the list of every Superstar to wear WWE’s primary championship belt. That long list includes John Cena, Randy Orton, AJ Styles, CM Punk, Batista, Triple H, Rey Mysterio and Hulk Hogan, among many others.

Kingston realized his world title dreams at WrestleMania 35 on April 6, when he defeated Daniel Bryan for the belt. Kofi fought to get another title opportunity after The Elimination Chamber, where he stepped up in the featured match as a replacement for the injured Mustafa Ali.

There have been a total of 40 WWE champions since the title’s inception in 1963. Kofi is the first African-born WWE champion and many fans are surely hoping he will keep the title for the foreseeable future. Kingston had a long road to the championship, as he spent 11 years in the company before finally getting a run with the prestigious title.
