This, despite the fact that Braat is out of contract with Les Canaris in 12 months time.

The U19s world champion with France un 2016, Braat has had to patiently wait for his chance in the professional leagues, and the arrival of Alban Lafont put the final nail in the coffin of Braat receiving playing time with Ligue 1 side Nantes in the short-term future.

He is expected to sign his contract with Niort on Monday. Braat has already visited the club’s facilities last week and he arrives as competition for 25-year-old shot-stopper Saturnin Allagbé, who is currently participating in AFCON for Benin.

Vissel Kobe in talks to sign Eiji Kawashima

Japanese giants Vissel Kobe have opened talks with 36-year-old out-of-contract goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima, whose contract with Ligue 1 side Strasbourg has just expired, according to Goal France.

Should a deal be done, he would join up with the likes of David Villa, Andrés Iniesta & Lukas Podolski.

Kawashima has already held weighty discussions with Kobe, but negotiations are being blocked on some minor details. Other Japanese sides have also made enquiries for the ex-Standard Liege and Dundee shot-stopper.

Kawashima does not intend to bring an end to his career yet, and wants to make it to the 2020 Qatar World Cup at least.

Rennes President Olivier Létang talks about Laurent Koscielny pursuit

Speaking at a press conference earlier today, Rennes President Olivier Létang was drawn to discussing the future of 33-year-old Arsenal central defender Laurent Koscielny, who RMC claimed had agreed personal terms with the Brittany side.

“We found out about this claim like you did. Even my son said to me, apparently Laurent Koscielny is coming. I told him that it was false. He is a good player with great international level experience. We met him two times last year. When we heard about the possibility of a departure at the beginning of June, we called the Arsenal representatives to see if this was true because if it was we could have been interested. In mid-June, we heard back from Arsenal who told us that they wanted to sign him to a contract extension, that he was not for sale. We have not spoken with the player since. We have great respect for other clubs. We cannot talk with a player if a club does not want him to leave. So I can say that what came out this weekend is false and not a reality… We read like you a lot of things like you.”

Newcastle make €8m offer to PSG for Stanley N’Soki

Get French Football News can confirm reports from this morning’s L’Équipe that Premier League side Newcastle United have made an €8m offer to sign PSG defender Stanley N’Soki.

Les Parisiens have set a €15m asking price for the 20-year-old French youth international defender, with AS Roma and Lazio constantly in contact with PSG over a potential deal.

Sources contacted by Get French Football News understand that Newcastle United entered back into conversations about two weeks ago with PSG, after Rafa Benitez pushed hard to sign N’Soki already last summer.

Back then, N’Soki did not want to move to the Premier League, feeling that it was too early in his career to do so. But now, one year on, the Frenchman wants to leave PSG at all costs.

With one year remaining on his current contract, he is willing to move to Newcastle, who have presented the player with a highly enticing sporting project.

However, negotiations over personal terms are understood to be some way off from concluding positively, but Newcastle are in pole position to land N’Soki this summer and will have to continue to negotiate with PSG over a fee.

Sporting Director Leonardo has told people close to him, according to L’Équipe, that he would sell for €12m.

Sources tell Get French Football News that a proposal of €10m plus add-ons should be enough to convince the Ligue 1 champions to sell.

Sources also tell Get French Football News that another Premier League has made a verbal offer to PSG for the player this summer. That side was Southampton, whose proposal was an initial loan. This doesn’t work for PSG, with N’Soki only having 12 months remaining on his deal. In order for this formula to work, PSG would require N’Soki to sign a contract extension, which he is not willing to do.

Les Parisiens have no intention of allowing N’Soki to leave for nothing next summer.

Newcastle United have followed the player since he was 16, and Steve Bruce and Lee Charnley are both in agreement about going after N’Soki again this summer.

There are a multitude of other European clubs interested in acquiring N’Soki’s services, but they are aware that they cannot compete with Premier League sides and are waiting until the English market closes on August 8th.
