Paige Shoots Down Anti-Divas Column Criticizing the Bella Twins, Watch the Undertaker’s Fashion Police Entrance

Paige Shoots Down Anti-Divas B.S.

Smackdown General Manager Paige did not take kindly to a recent opinion piece from NoDQ.com, which claimed that the return of “Divas Era” athletes like Nikki and Brie Bella might possibly ruin the upcoming all-women’s pay-per-view event, WWE Evolution.

In the article, author Steven Luke complained that the Bella Twins should be “nowhere near” Evolution on October 28th, and even insisted that “Lita’s hundredth match with Mickie James should stay at the bottom of the card”.

Never mind that Lita and Mickie have had a grand total of SIX singles matches on television and pay-per-view, their last match happened TWELVE years ago, and most of them were under three minutes long. In fact, on one occasion Mickie was literally blindfolded, which is nothing compared to the time WWE writers literally had her wrestle a match with her legs tied together.

But sure, why give them chance to actually have a decent match at a PPV meant to celebrate actual women’s wrestling…

Paige responded to the article stating, “You do realize both these ladies were the OG ladies to help kickstart the #GiveDivasaChance trend?” speaking of Nikki and Brie Bella. “I know because I was part of it. They deserve to be a part of everything and more, they are one of the leaders of the movement. Sometimes matches all won’t be ‘crisp’.”

BREAKING: Dean Ambrose Betrays The Shield Moments After Winning WWE Raw Tag Titles

In what was a truly emotional and honestly shocking show, the main event of RAW ended with new Tag Team Champions crowned.

After their Shield brother Roman Reigns announced that he would be relinquishing his WWE Universal Championship due to a battle with leukemia, Intercontinental Champion Seth Rollins & Dean Ambrose dedicated their match for the Raw tag titles later in the night to the “Big Dog”.

The two remaining “Hounds of Justice” challenged Drew McIntyre & Dolph Ziggler for the titles in what ended up being an excellent match, prior to things turning into complete chaos after more than a little help from the “Monster Among Men” Braun Strowman.

— WWE (@WWE) October 23, 2018

The celebration did not last long however, as shortly after their hands were raised in victory, Dean Ambrose attacked Seth Rollins and brutally beat him down. Dean was relentless, violent, and a downright lunatic, as he screamed at Seth, leaving the WWE Universe speechless to end the show.

We could only speculate now where the Raw Tag Team Championships go from here, but we do know that the entire landscape has now changed on Raw.

Samoa Joe returning to the ring at NXT TakeOver

After more than a year away from the ring, Samoa Joe is making his return.

It was set up at Wednesday night’s NXT television tapings that Joe will challenge Karrion Kross for the NXT Championship at NXT TakeOver 36 next month. The TakeOver event is taking place on Sunday, August 22.

There was an in-ring segment at Wednesday’s tapings where Joe offered NXT general manager William Regal his resignation as an NXT authority figure so that he could face Kross at TakeOver. Regal, who wanted to fire Kross during the segment, agreed to Joe’s deal and signed the paperwork.

Last night’s NXT ended with an angle where it was shown that Kross had laid out Regal. The attack on Regal was Kross sending a message to Joe. The previous week, Kross choked out Joe after Joe was the special guest referee for Kross’ NXT Championship defense against Johnny Gargano.

Joe hasn’t wrestled since February 2020 due to concussion issues. He was working as a color commentator for Raw until being released by WWE in this April’s roster cuts. Joe returned as an on-screen authority figure for NXT this June. He’s also working in the talent scouting department in NXT.

On Fox Sports’ Out of Character with Ryan Satin podcast in June, Joe was asked if he’s still working toward a return to the ring. “Absolutely,” Joe said. “We’ll just say yes. We’ll leave it at that.” Joe named Kross, Pete Dunne, WALTER, Adam Cole, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly, and Bronson Reed as opponents that he would like to face in NXT.

Kross made his Raw debut this Monday, losing a non-title match against Jeff Hardy. Hardy pinned Kross while having his feet on the ropes for extra leverage.

Ciao ciao“, peut-on l’entendre dire.

This week’s WWE Smackdown averaged 2.135 million viewers, which is up from last week’s 2.095 million viewership average.

WWE Smackdown this week ranked #9 in overall cable television viewership for the night, with the culmination of the Yankees vs Red Sox MLB Playoff series topping the night.

All Mention of Saudi Arabia Removed from WWE Website & Social Media; The Latest on WWE Crown Jewel Plans

In the midst of growing controversy surrounding the United States’ relationship with the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, WWE has pulled almost all reference to the country from their website and social media over the last few days.

According to the latest reports from PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson and Dave Scherer, among other sources, the internal plan is still full steam ahead to WWE Crown Jewel on Nov. 2nd. In fact, management from King Saud University will be meeting with the ticket company on Monday to start making plans and laying out the event.

WWE released a statement earlier in the week stating that they were “monitoring” the situation, after news broke that the Saudi government was allegedly responsible for the brutal assassination and dismemberment of Jamal Khashoggi, a Saudi journalist and legal United States resident.

Khashoggi had been critical of his government’s policies for years, and was at one point considered one of the most influential political pundits in the Middle East. He fled to the United States in 2017.

The reason this entire situation ties to WWE is not just because they are simply running an event in Saudi Arabia this November. If it were like any other international event where they were coming in, making money off the live gate and moving on, there may still be a minor amount of pushback from some individuals, but not nearly on the current level where members of the U.S. government are now putting pressure on the company to reconsider the event.

The real controversy is that WWE has a contract with the Saudi Arabian government and is being paid upwards of $50 million to run shows in conjunction with the kingdom’s requests, which at this year’s Greatest Royal Rumble event included running several propaganda pieces praising the forward-thinking and liberal ambitions of the Saudi crown prince.

So now WWE is caught in a situation where they’re essentially being paid millions by the Saudi government to talk up how amazing and progressive their culture is, while at the same time the rest of the world is in outrage because that same “culture” just murdered a journalist because he advocated for things like democracy and equal rights for women.

After making his return to WWE NXT last night for the first time since his injury/attack angle, Aleister Black has promised no remorse.
