Stacy Keibler Reportedly Turned Down Multiple Offers To Return To WWE

As noted earlier this week, a WWE spokesperson confirmed that the company is not in talks with former Diva Stacy Keibler about a return, despite rumors to the contrary coming out of The Sun newspaper in the United Kingdom. Additionally, other sources claimed that not only was she in talks to make a comeback, but that she would serve as the manager for Daniel Bryan upon her return.

Those close to Keibler claim she has turned down offers for a return to WWE multiple times since leaving the company. According to reports, WWE has reached out to Keibler on at least a few occasions over the past two years.

Most recently, WWE extended an offer to Keibler to return right after she broke up with Hollywood A-lister George Clooney. WWE was running RAW in Keibler’s hometown of Baltimore, Maryland around this time and attempted to get the former Diva on the show.

Keibler herself noted during a recent SIRIUS/XM satelitte radio appearance that she has no intentions of returning to WWE anytime in the near future.

WWE RAW Preview: Final Hype For SummerSlam, CM Punk vs. Paul Heyman

Tonight’s episode of WWE RAW takes place from the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.

The only match confirmed for tonight’s show will see CM Punk vs. Paul Heyman. Punk’s SummerSlam opponent, Brock Lesnar, is scheduled to appear as well.

WWE.com’s 5-point preview is focusing on the following items:

* Expect Heyman to throw some kind of curveball to weaken Punk further before he steps into the ring with Lesnar on Sunday.

* Can Kane rediscover his old, sadistic ways in time for Sunday’s Ring of Fire match against Bray Waytt? And even if so, will it be too little, too late?

* Without a match at SummerSlam, The Shield could strike tonight.

* The next chapter in the ongoing John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan feud – and how Randy Orton and Vince McMahon will be involved.

* Triple H will continue to keep Vince McMahon out of the WWE Title match at SummerSlam.

The advertised dark match main event for the live crowd will see John Cena and CM Punk teaming up against The Shield.

Dolph Ziggler Talks Comedy/Wrestling, Bobby Heenan & More

WWES Superstar Dolph Ziggler was interviewed by Jimmy Traina of Sports Illustrated this week to hype Sunday’s SummerSlam pay-per-view. Here are some highlights of what he said about:

Getting Into Standup Comedy: When I was 5 years old I wanted to be a WWE superstar. When I was 8 years old I watched Saturday Night Live and I always wanted to be on there and be an entertainer. I’ve be a student of comedy for 20 years now, I just study and watch and go to comedy clubs and open mics and write my own material and try out my material. I’ve actually done stand up a couple of times and I love it. Not only the challenge of it, but the entertainment aspect. I wanna study great guys and wonder why they got the reaction that they did when they did, why are they so successful. Why are guys who are kind of funny getting great reactions, but guys who are really funny not always getting them.

Which Is Harder – Comedy or Wrestling: I would say they’re both pretty cut throa,t and sometimes you’re not gonna hear any reaction and that’s the worst thing that can ever happen. But at least in the WWE, you have another guy out there with you who you can blame. Last year, 80,000 people at WrestleMania, I was having the time of my life, living it up, not nervous at all, just having a great time. A couple of months ago I did my first standup set in front of about 50 people and I was literally shaking when I went on the stage.

The Funniest Wrestler of All Time: Bobby “The Brain” Heenan was better than anyone else at making me laugh. He was sooo good. So damn good at this. He was “The Brain” because he was so smart as a manager, as a commentator as a performer. He could do it all. He knew what to do, not just tell a couple of jokes. He was smart, and that is such a turn on to me as someone you look up to. His job was almost always to make other people look better than they were and he did it better than anyone else.

Total Divas & If He’d Want His Own Reality Show: Even knowing all those people, I think it’s a very intriguing show. When I first watched it, I was like “Wow, I can get into this show.” I would think about doing a reality show. However, as much as I want to be in TV, movies and crossover, I saw those cameras around for a couple of months and it’s huge invasion of your privacy. I’d have to think about it. I wouldn’t mind being a guest star or a bit player, but I’d need 24 hours at home in silence sometimes.

Mario Andretti mourns passing of twin brother Aldo

The Andretti family endured a tough end to the year, losing on Thursday its co-patriarch and former racer Aldo Andretti, the twin brother of 1978 F1 world champion Mario Andretti.

It’s been a tough year for the racing dynasty with Aldo’s passing at the age of 80 occurring just eleven months after his son, IndyCar and NASCAR driver John Andretti, died of cancer in January.

In a tweet Thursday afternoon, Mario Andretti wrote that “Aldo Andretti, my loving twin brother, my partner in crime and my faithful best friend every day of my life was called to heaven last night. Half of me went with him. There is no eloquence. I’m shaken to my core.”

As inseparable twins, Mario and Aldo embarked on the same impassioned motorsport journey that started when they sneaked through the Monza woodlands to witness the 1954 Italian GP, the young pair mesmerized by the fantastic battle between Juan Manuel Fangio and their idol, Alberto Ascari.

They carried the memories and their burning passion with them to America when the Andretti family emigrated to the promised land a year later.

As they settled in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, the presence of a half-mile dirt track offered the perfect venue and opportunity for the twins to take their passion to the next level.

Savings from working at a local gas station incited them to acquire an old Hudson which they refurbished and subsequently raced together

But Aldo’s driving career was cut short by a serious crash that left him in a coma for four days. He made sporadic appearances behind the wheel thereafter but felt the incident had taken away his edge.

However, Aldo’s passion for motorsport remained intact, and he was an ubiquitous presence at race tracks in the US alongside Mario and later on as the most fervent support of his son, John.

“Though Aldo’s life took a different direction than brother Mario’s, Aldo forever shared a passion for racing and was a true motor enthusiast and entrepreneur,” Andretti Autosport said in a release on Friday.

“He could often still be found on the racing circuit supporting and following the careers of the family.”

IndyCar charger Marco Andretti also paid tribute to his great uncle.
