What Happened After RAW Went Off The Air

Here’s a live recap of what happened after Monday’s episode of WWE RAW from Green Bay went off the air, courtesy of reader Doug Simmons:

Vince McMahon removed his jacket, tie, and belt and acted like he wanted to fight. John Cena’s music hit and out he came Cena got in the ring to talk to Vince, who said, “Screw you” and slammed the mic down. He slapped Cena and knocked his hat off.

Cena backed Vince into the corner, then Dolph Ziggler, R-Truth, and The Miz ran in and beat down Cena. Santino Marella, Evan Bourne, and Zack Ryder hit the ring and made the save. All of the heels powdered, leaving only Ziggler in the ring with the babyfaces.

Cena hit Ziggler with the Five Knuckle Shuffle. Sanctio hit The Cobra. Ryder hits his finisher. Cena gave ziggler the Attitude Adjustment, and Bourne nailed his finisher. The babyfaces powdered and celebrated with the ringside fans.

The Row launches unique vintage designer pieces from its archive

Los Angeles-based The Row is retailing a series of vintage designer items from its archive, ranging from Japanese purists Comme des Garcons and Yohji Yamamoto to John Galliano and Chanel.

The luxe minimalist brand, named after London’s infamous Savile Row, is selling multiple one-off garments from mostly the 1990s that were either used as inspiration for its own pieces or that were acquired elsewhere.

Many designers and brands use vintage clothes to inspire the shapes, fits and fabric choices of their new collections. High street brands especially are prone to buying luxury designer pieces to copy details for their own ranges. It is not by accident that strong designer catwalk looks get filtered down to the Zara’s and H&M’s of the high street.

The vintage items retailing at The Row have a similar pared-down quality to the brand’s own womenswear, and surely inspired its attention to detailing and cuts.

In its US and UK boutiques The Row merchandises its spaces with vintage furniture and objects, ranging from original Pierre Jeanneret seating to Charlotte Perriand stools, which it also sells. Prices are available on request.

Founded in 2006, The Row says its combines a timeless fashion perspective with subtle attitudes to form an irreverent classic signature. Its collections explore the strength of simplistic shapes that speak to discretion and are based on uncompromising quality. Some inspired, no doubt, by fashion’s original masters.

Details On Melina Being Barred From Raw, Internal Heat On John Morrison

As reported Tuesday, WWE barred Melina Perez from attending Monday’s Raw event at the HP Pavilion in San Jose, California. WWE officials made the decision ban the former Women’s Champion from the arena due to their belief that should she have entered the backstage area, there would have been some major drama in response to her being let go by the organization last Friday. The entire company security team was told she was not to be let inside the venue. Management has taken Perez’ reaction to being released as over the top, according to one source, to the point that she may have burned the bridge in regard to a future return.

Perez going on the road with John Morrison over the weekend was also a major point of contention internally. Company officials are very down on Morrison over the situation, feeling it was a massive breach of etiquette. One writer said, “It would be one thing to come visit a few months down the line but to show up at the next shows after being released, it’s a complete lack of understanding and respect. It sucks you are fired but you don’t come see the boyfriend that dumped you the next day and you don’t go to the office to hang out after getting your pink slip. She did that and made eyes roll. There were some worried she was going to physically cause a problem and with John facilitating that by having her there, well, you saw what happened on Raw.”

The same source indicated that Morrison’s current WWE contract will expire within the next several months. With no long term deal in place and the belief that his loyalty to his longtime girlfriend would supersede his to WWE, it’s easy to see why he has been deemphasized.

Jim Ross Blog: Being Left Off SummerSlam, RAW’s 3-Man Team & More

WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross is back with another blog, which you can read in its entirety over at JRsBarBQ.com. Here are some highlights of what JR wrote about:

Not Commentating At SummerSlam: “Obviously I would have liked to have been a part of the Summer Slam announce team but I enjoyed Tweeting throughout the show and gained about 2,000 new followers as a result.”

The Live Crowd At SummerSlam & Which Match Stole The Show: “The Staples Center live audience really did their share in making the PPV feel special. It can’t be overstated how important the live audience is to any TV broadcast. I felt that Christian vs. Orton stole the show Sunday and that the final, two Summer Slam main events delivered as they should.”

RAW’s 3-Man Announcing Team: “I thought the three man announce team had a solid night in SD and it shows that we are all working hard to establish rhythm and develop chemistry. I’ve read where some think that I’m the ‘3rd wheel’ in the scenario which is somewhat insulting but motivating at the same time.”

The New Stone Cold DVD: “Worked Tuesday night viewing the new Stone Cold DVD with Steve Austin and the talented WWE TV production crew. Austin’s FOUR DVD set will be in stores around the end of November and should be on shelves worldwide for the holidays. @steveaustinBSR and I did alternate commentary ala a narration on Steve’s Wrestlemania bouts vs. Bret Hart (WM13), HBK (WM15), and the Rock (WM17). Even though these matches have been on other DVDS they have never had our alternate commentary which will provide fans will a unique, inside look at the matches in both an informative and humorous, at times, manner. This was one of the most enjoyable broadcasting experiences that I’ve had in years.”

“The closing music video for the 2+ hour documentary portion of the Austin DVD is as moving as any I’ve ever experienced in the business.”
