Mick Foley Shares His Thoughts Regarding Chyna In WWE Hall Of Fame

WWE Hall Of Famer Mick Foley recently took to his official Facebook page to share his thoughts regarding whether or not Joanie “Chyna” Laurer should be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame.

As noted, Chyna passed away at age 45 last week. Foley wrote the following on Facebook regarding Laurer in the WWE Hall Of Fame, which included a photo of Chyna sitting on Foley’s lap.

#‎WWEHOF‬ FOR CHYNA?

I love this photo of me and Joanie in the Foley Christmas room – the last photo of us ever taken. Before she headed out that night, knowing that she was going to embark on a publicity tour that I wasn’t sure she was emotionally prepared for, and knowing that she might actively campaign for induction into the WWE Hall of Fame I pulled her aside.

“Joanie”, I said. “Being inducted into the Hall of Fame was one of the greatest nights of my life – but it doesn’t define me. Don’t let it define you. You’re a legend in our business, no one can ever take away from you the things you’ve done. Don’t let anyone have the power to tell you whether or not your career was worthy of the Hall of Fame. It was! There will never be another Chyna”

So next year, when the announcements are made, if Chyna is not an inductee, don’t be sad. The real Hall of Fame is inside all of us. It’s a Hall of Fame based on the way superstars made us feel, the smiles they produced, the memories they created for us, the legacies they forged that will stand the test of time. By that standard, Joanie Laurer – Chyna; the 9th Wonder of the World was inducted into the Hall that really matters – our hall of memories – a long, long time ago.

Dior unveils a joyful and psychedelic men’s collection online

Acidic colors, psychedelic patterns, luxurious extravagance of the costume with new proportions, accessorized with slippers or massive boots: Dior unveiled its autumn 2021 men’s collection online Tuesday, opposing joy to the gloom that hangs over this year.

“Joy, happiness and hope”

“When we started the collection, we were coming out of the first confinement and I wanted to bring joy, happiness and hope,” explains Kim Jones, British designer of men’s collections from the French luxury house in a video accompanying the presentation of the collection.

This collection that he wanted “fun and light” plays on the gap between the classic silhouettes of Dior and the world of the American artist Kenny Scharf who, in the 80s, had created connections between the world of contemporary art and that of graffiti like Jean-Michel Basquiat or Keith Haring.

“I love the clash of colors – yellow and purple, orange and blue, red and green. When you take the happy and sad opposites and put them together, it creates the tension and excitement that I love,” said Kenny Scharf. The motifs of his works are reproduced on jacquard jackets, sweaters or shirts, like a monkey with flowering nipples, but also embroidered on tambourines, those slightly square berets, Christian Dior’s favorite headwear.

Knot stitch embroidery, one of the oldest techniques in the world, was
performed in China. New on the silhouette side: the abundance of jackets
and coats with belts worn with loose, short pants revealing the ankle
above bright blue or pink “chunky boots” or slippers, a nod to the global
lockdown that boosted loungewear fashion.

The six-button coat revisits the work jacket while the English twill jackets, a fabric used in military uniforms, are decorated with a huge bow at the back.

And the ultimate in luxury, a “double-sided” jacket made up of two pieces
superimposed one on top of the other with a slight offset. The scenography
of the parade broadcast on the Dior website is designed by the French
director Thomas Vanz like a virtual space odyssey. (AFP)

Schumacher to replace Magnussen in Abu Dhabi FP1

Mick Schumacher will take over Kevin Magnussen’s car in Friday’s FP1 in Abu Dhabi as the newly signed Haas driver makes his F1 weekend debut.

Schumacher, who clinched the FIA F2 Championship title last weekend in Bahrain, had been due to drive in free practice for Alfa Romeo at the Eifel Grand Prix, but adverse weather led to the cancellation of the Friday morning session.

This week, barring a sandstorm at Yas Marina, Schumacher will enjoy 90 minutes of running with his new team.

“Coming from a weekend like the last one, there’s only very few things to imagine which could be better than winning a championship – but then, having a weekend ahead, being a proper part of a F1 team and getting to drive the FP1 would probably count,” said Schumacher.

“I’m still really excited having won the F2 championship, and that excitement doesn’t stop knowing I’ll be with Haas next year, and that I’ll be driving for them for the first time on Friday.

“I’m looking forward to getting to know all of them, getting to understand how they approach and undergo a race weekend and starting this journey together with Haas here in Abu Dhabi.

“I will soak in everything I can to the maximum, taking this weekend as a preparation for the experience to come next year.

“The good thing is that I don’t have to be concerned about the weather this time, so I am confident I will go out during FP1, and I am very much looking forward to sharing the track with such great drivers.”

On the other side of Haas’ garage, Pietro Fittipaldi will enjoy his second race with the US outfit, filling in for Romain Grosjean whose final season in F1 will have ended prematurely unfortunately for the Frenchman following his horror crash in Bahrain last month.

Jeff Jarrett On Alleged Incident With Brian Knobbs, GFW In 2016 & More

GFW founder Jeff Jarrett recently appeared on The Interactive Interview to talk about a number of topics related to his new promotion. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On GFW in 2016:

“We started in late January in Poughkeepsie. One thing has lead to another. It really has exploded. We just got back from Germany… New York City for some meetings last night. Baseball shows, stadium shows, we’ve got a fair date that we’re going to be announcing real soon. I appreciate you asking about it. We’re glad to hit the road and let people experience the VIP experience and a night of our action. Combining our Global Force stars with that of the local promotions has created some really cool matches. We are really super excited about it.”

On has getting GFW off the ground been easier, harder, or just different than getting TNA off the ground:

“Yes, both, and all of the above! (laughs) In reality, there have been some things that have not been near as challenging. But, there have been some things that are just a completely different animal. We (TNA) started strictly on pay-per-view in 2002 and here we are in 2016, we (GFW) went to Las Vegas, taped some shows… It has been a tedious process… A laborous process. But, it is something I’m pretty excited about. We have some huge, huge things happening now. Things are just done differently now. It isn’t just networks, it is media companies. It is a completely different set of circumstances. We’re not just launching a TV show. We are in the process, and have been for 2 years now, of launching a brand.”

On the GFW growth process:

“Patience is not in my DNA,” Jarrett said. He says he’s learned a lot through his experiences and with over 70 years of history in the wrestling business for his family, he understands it. He says the past 6 weeks, though, have been productive with licensing and getting the merchandising and the digital state ready for Global Force Wrestling.

On when will GFW’s TV series AMPED hit American TV:

“I will be sharing that soon! That is all I will say. I was in New York yesterday. That was one of the meetings. I would love to announce it right now but it would not be productive for all involved. But, we’re getting there. I’ll say that much!”

On a reported WrestleCon incident with “Nasty Boy” Brian Knobbs:

(Laughs) “They came to Tennessee either the year I broke in or the year after. We’ve always had a joking relationship. It was all in fun and games. It made me laugh so hard I came to tears. I’ll let Knobbs tell you his side because it is going to be a lot funnier if he says it.” James mentions that the story implied there was heat there, Jarrett says he’d find it hard to imagine a way that they’d ever have heat with each other. It was “horse play”.

On iff he ever considered purchasing majority control of TNA to absolve it and own the footage given their current search for a financial change:

“I don’t even give that any thought. As it relates to business, I’m 1000% laser focussed on Global Force Wrestling. For me to spend a minute thinking about those guys… I wish them all the best. I wish all wrestling the best. I don’t care if it is Ring of Honor, Lucha Underground… I’m a wrestling guy. I come from a wrestling family. I want to see all wrestling promotions thrive.”

On if he wants to wrestle under the GFW banner as he had once said he did not wish to but has:

“In-ring performing, obviously, was my first love. But, I am 100% dedicated to wearing my promoter hat. This past summer, on the strictly Global Force shows, I did not wrestle. But, it started with the United Kingdom shows. The promoters, quite frankly, said “If we’re going to do this, it is not an option. You’ve got to wrestle!” They seem to believe, for whatever wacky reason, that there is value in me wrestling. I still enjoy it (wrestling). Am I in my prime? (laughs) I’m not joking or kidding anybody. But, I’m really proud of my last few matches in WXW. Heading forward, I’m putting on the tights and lacing up the boots several more times. But, strictly Global Force Wrestling? I’m devoted to being a promoter and not wrestling.”

On the death of Chyna and their rumored problems:

“I love wrestling fans. I was a wrestling fan before I was a wrestler. But, they love to complain, argue, and make something of nothing. There was a lot of sensationalistic that people read into. It is unfortunate, Joanie’s situation. I don’t think there’s anything I could say that hasn’t been said over the past week. Trail-blazer. Kicked down doors. But, the one thing I can say is, in the series of matches I had with her, Chyna… got it. She wasn’t spectacular with her skill set. But, what she did, she did very, very good and it speaks volumes for the talent that she had for being that persona. She was as important part of DX as any member that had ever been there. It spoke volumes. The Attitude Era? She was one of those talents that really defined it. Someone interviewed me over in Germany. They brought up my last WWF match was against her and Joanie’s last match, ever, was against me in TNA. Our paths had crossed multiple times. My condolences go to all of her family.”

King Mo Reveals Who He Blames For His Run With TNA

Ahead of his Bellator 154 main event fight this weekend on Spike TV against former top-ranked UFC contender Phil Davis, Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal spoke with the folks at WrestlingINC.com about his run in TNA Wrestling. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On if he has been paying attention to the state of TNA and their many recent talent departures:

“I’ve been paying attention, man. I was kind of worried when Kazarian and Daniels left,” Mo said. “Then Samoa Joe left. Then AJ Styles, Eric Young, Austin Aries, Bobby Roode- Bobby Roode can wrestle his ass off. The guys that could really wrestle are leaving. I hope they can bounce back. That’s not good, especially when AJ Styles left. They lost a lot of great wrestlers, and I hope they can turn the corner and move forward on a positive note.”

On being brought into TNA with a lot of fanfare but having things slow down quickly because he fought MMA so frequently:

“Everything got messed up quick because of my fight schedule. I was in OVW, had a couple of matches there. I was working with Al Snow, Nick Dinsmore and Nick Miller, who is known as Trailer Park Trash. I was learning a lot from Frank Miller. TNA didn’t really have a chance to use me because of my fight schedule. I fought like 5-6 times that one year.”

On blaming former Bellator MMA president Bjorn Rebney for the way his TNA run turned out, noting current president Scott Coker would have handled it better:

“Not really, with the fight schedule it was hard. Bellator with Bjorn was iffy. Coker would have done a better job trying to coordinate the schedule with TNA. I think the blame is on Bjorn. I was working with Kenny King and people at FSW. I was hoping I could do something, me and Kenny King, the Knockout Kings. Bjorn, I don’t know what his plan was. I don’t think he had a plan.”

Cameron Talks To Steve Austin About Their Infamous Tough Enough Incident

Former WWE Superstar and Total Divas star Cameron (Ariane Andrew) recently appeared as a guest on WWE Hall Of Famer “Stone Cold” Steve Austin’s “Steve Austin Show” podcast at PodcastOne.com. Below are some of the highlights from the interview.

On saying Alicia Fox vs. Melina was her favorite match while on Tough Enough with Steve Austin:

“I wasn’t an avid wrestling fan and that was just the first thing that I remember and being women and stuff like that. And I was like, ‘that’s what I said’ and it was just like one of those types of things that has lived with me forever, but I don’t regret what I said because I feel like I wouldn’t have taken the dedication to learn the history. And then, now I see why people were so upset. At the time, I was like, ‘I don’t understand’ or ‘if it was probably someone else, people would have been like, ‘oh yes’, but you know it was because it was me’. And I still get so much heat from it and so much criticism. But I’m happy it happened because it’s like if you don’t make mistakes, you don’t learn and you don’t grow. And it’s like it really had me sit down, study the history, and kind of be like, ‘okay, you know what? I can see kind of where they’re coming from.'”

On her new favorite match:

“I have a few [favorite matches], but I want to say Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat [versus ‘Macho Man’ Randy Savage] first. I would say that’s like the number one.” Andrew professed, “that was a pretty damn good defining moment and I really like that match.”
