TNA Impact Almost Pulled Due to Music Rights Issue, TNA Problem

According to Wrestling Observer Radio, last night’s episode of TNA Impact was almost pulled due to a music rights problem. The company was able to edit DJZ and Mike Bennett’s entrance themes from the show prior to air, and the program was allowed to continue. It should be noted that this was not related to the lawsuit filed by Billy Corgan earlier this week.

Another real problem on the horizon for Impact Ventures, LLC is related to the ongoing pay issues. We’ve reported for years now that TNA has had trouble paying their talents, and apparently this weekend is a big pay period for the company. The story is that they were given money to pay for the recent Impact Wrestling tapings but there is no confirmation that they were given enough to pay talents. This would cause a breach of contracts, which would then make everyone a free agent. Dave Meltzer adds that some talents are prepared to declare themselves free agents and begin negotiating with other companies next week if they are not paid.

Hulkenberg feeling ‘much more at home’ with Racing Point

Nico Hulkenberg says he felt “much more at home” with Racing Point during his opening day of running for this weekend’s second round of racing at Silverstone.

Hulkenberg’s substitute role with the pink squad was extended on Friday morning following a second positive COVID-19 test for incumbent Sergio Perez.

The German driver’s mechanical issue last Sunday when his car failed to join the grid deprived the Hulk of precious mileage and experience that good have been put to good use on Friday.

Nevertheless, Racing Point’s high-quality fill-in enjoyed a productive Friday that yielded the fourth fastest time overall in FP2, a clear indication that Hulkenberg was getting a firm grasp on his team’s RP20.

“It was much better, much more familiar with the whole situation inside the car,” said Hulkenberg.

“Obviously you know kind of what to expect much more than one week ago. I felt much more at home straight away, physically also much better. A much more round and expected Friday.

“On the option tyre today, the lap wasn’t that clean,” he added.

“Especially on the last corner, I lost a bit of time. But I’m pretty happy and confident in the car, I have to say. Quite pleased with that. I think we can definitely build on that.”

Although his presence behind the wheel of P was only confirmed on Friday morning, Hulkenberg says he underwent a few simulator sessions at Racing Point’s base this week to help with his preparations and improve his adjustments.

“We’ve used the last couple of days to prepare as much and as good as we can,” he added.

“I’ve been in the simulator twice, and that’s certainly kind of helped. We’ve tried a couple of things with the car, with the setup, that cleaned up some of the questions we had.

“That was confirmed today, and the programme today we got through quite cleanly, so it was all good.”

Each year, the United States, Iran and Russia are among the world’s best wrestling nations. Since the IOC Executive Board recommendation that wrestling not be a core sport at the 2020 Olympic Games, these three nations have worked closely together to help support Olympic wrestling. Although their governments do not always agree, the wrestling leaders in these nations have a strong working relationship.

Those who wish to see this event or to participate in the Awards Gala must purchase a ticket in advance at www.beat-the-streets.org.
