It will be the seventh European Cup final to be played in England, and the first to held in London other than at Twickenham.

The stadium is due to host Premiership Rugby and NFL games as well as Spurs fixtures next season.

“We are excited to have been selected to host this prestigious weekend, the pinnacle of European club rugby, in 2021, and to have this opportunity to welcome EPCR and rugby fans from around the world to Tottenham to experience our new home,” Spurs chairman Daniel Levy said.

Liverpool away kit 2019/20: Leaked strip features BLUE badge and trim and some fans are not happy

After releasing a grey away kit for this season, it appears as though New Balance are being a tad more adventurous by including BLUE on their 2019/20 strip.

Thanks to images obtained by FootyHeadlines.com and from social media, fans have been treated to teaser images of what could be their official release.

The shirt is predominantly white, with a greyish-blue logo and badge the main talking points.

On the arms, there is a small blue and red trim below the Western Union sponsor on the left arm.

Perhaps adding to the authenticity, the collar used is the same one seen on New Balance’s new goalkeeper kits for Celtic, although there’s a subtle pattern present on the front panel of the Liverpool 19-20 away jersey.

Liverpool will set unwanted record if they lose Premier League title race on Sunday against Manchester City

After 74 incredible games, Liverpool and Manchester City both face one more nervous 90 minutes each which will determine who will lift the famous trophy.

City are in pole position to retain their title when they take on Brighton at the Amex. Simply win and they will become the first side to retain the title since rivals United a decade ago.

However, if they slip up Jurgen Klopp’s men will be well aware if they better City’s result at home to Wolves they will be crowned Premier League winners for the first time in their illustrious history.

Pep Guardiola’s men are a point ahead as it stands and have managed to claw back an incredible deficit on the Reds.

At the end of 2018, Liverpool were seven points clear after 20 games with 54 points.

It was their best ever return at that point in any season by a margin of four points and, even more impressively, it was the third-best return by any side at the same stage in top-flight history.

In fact, only two teams in top-flight history have recorded more points after 20 games. Only Chelsea (55 in 2005-06) and Manchester City (58 in 2017-18) have accrued more points than Liverpool at that stage.

However, if the Reds cannot perform another minor miracle on Sunday and claim the Premier League title, they will have set yet another record – an altogether entirely unwanted one.

No team in Premier League history has ever been so far clear on New Year’s Day and not gone on to win the title.

Raheem Sterling: Manchester City forward picks up Football Writers’ Association Footballer of the Year award

A stunning season with Manchester City and England has been complemented by the 24-year-old’s impressive work off the pitch fighting racism in football and society.

Sterling’s heroics saw him crowned PFA Young Player of the Year and then voted as the FWA Footballer of the Year, which Sterling picked up at the Landmark Hotel in London on Thursday.

“It’s a massive achievement, a massive honour,” he said. “To be recognised is always a lovely feeling, especially by the writers. It makes it even more special.

“It is an award that I will cherish, especially with the people that have won it before me so I am really, really glad and proud.”

Sterling collected 62 per cent of the poll by FWA members and beat Liverpool centre-back Virgil Van Dijk to the award by over 100 votes.

He will be hoping to get the better of the Dutchman once again this Sunday, when the most fascinating title race in years goes down to the wire.

City head to Brighton in the driving seat but Liverpool will be desperate to capitalise on any uncharacteristic slip-up by Pep Guardiola’s men as they welcome Wolves to Anfield.

“We know how big an occasion it is,” Sterling said. “But I’d much rather be on our side, to know if we win the game, it’s ours.

“It will be a tough day, that’s for sure. We know Brighton won’t just sit there and let us score goals.

“They’re safe and it is going to be a really tough day, to be honest with you, but it is one I am really looking forward to.”

Sterling is the first Manchester City player in 50 years to win the FWA Footballer of the Year award, following on from Tony Book sharing the accolade with Derby’s Dave Mackay.

‘Precept and example’ have long been considered when voting for the award – values that Sterling boasts in abundance.

Put to him that he has had a bit of an up and down time with the media in the recent years, Sterling said: “Yeah, it’s one of those where I take full responsibility as well because it’s my first time being a professional and everyone makes mistakes.

“Being young and not quite understanding what goes on in and around football with the media.

“But as you get older, you mature and understand things much better and I think now people can see me for who I am.

“Role model, not in terms of saying you set out to be a role model but just in terms of leading by example.

“You have young kids who do follow you and do look up to you, and you need to try and set the right example for them and the next generation coming through for sure.

Valencia 2-4 Arsenal (3-7 on aggregate): Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scores his first Gunners hat-trick as Unai Emery’s men advance to Europa League final

Having led 3-1 from the first leg, the Gunners were favourites to advance and got the better of a back-and-forth contest, with Aubameyang hitting three to seal a 4-2 win on the night and a 7-3 aggregate success.

In a week of English comebacks in the Champions League, Aubameyang’s goals made sure Arsenal were not on the receiving end of another.

Despite falling behind to Kevin Gameiro’s 11th-minute effort, the Gunners rallied as Aubameyang equalised and Alexandre Lacazette struck to put them ahead on the night and in control of the tie.

Gameiro, who was part of Emery’s Sevilla side who won three successive Europa League titles, continued his fine scoring run in the competition with another – only for Aubameyang to add the gloss with two more efforts.

A disappointing home draw with Brighton last weekend all but ended any hopes of a top-four finish in the Premier League for Arsenal.

Emery, who has not lost a knockout tie in this competition since he was in charge of Valencia in 2012, knows he needs to win the same title in Baku on May 29 to seal a Champions League return for Arsenal in his first season at the helm.

Valencia created the first chance, Laurent Koscielny doing well to beat Rodrigo to Gameiro’s near-post cross.

Goncalo Guedes fired well wide of Petr Cech’s goal when latching onto Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ clearance, the hosts attempting to start in the same manner which saw them race into a lead at the Emirates Stadium.

That goal would come as Arsenal were caught committing too many men forward and Gameiro slid in to tuck home Rodrigo’s cross from close range.

Gameiro then accidentally blocked a Rodrigo strike as Valencia took the game to their visitors.

But, just as with last week’s first leg, Arsenal hit back seemingly from nowhere as Aubameyang ran on to Lacazette’s header and his cool finish levelled the scores on the night.

The equaliser took some of the wind out of the Valencia sails but skipper Dani Parejo came close with a free-kick 10 minutes before the interval.

Lacazette then spurned a marvellous opportunity to all but put the tie beyond Valencia as he could only turn Aubameyang’s pass onto the outside of the post when Arsenal’s player of the season should have done so much better.

He made amends with a fine finish five minutes after the restart, picking up the ball in the box and wriggling free before arrowing a finish past Neto.

Valencia needed four in the final 40 minutes and pulled one back as Gameiro bundled the ball over the line having again accidentally block a Rodrigo strike.

Ezequiel Garay’s long-range strike flew wide as the LaLiga outfit sort to make the closing stages more awkward for Arsenal.

Chelsea 1-1 Eintracht Frankfurt (2-2 on aggregate): Blues to face Arsenal in Europa League final after nerve-wracking penalty shootout triumph

The Belgian tucked the spot-kick in the net as the Blues edged out Eintracht Frankfurt 4-3 in the tense shootout following a 1-1 draw in normal and extra-time.

Kepa Arrizabalaga produced two fine saves to spare Cesar Azpilicueta’s blushes, as the Blues captain missed his own spot-kick.

Kepa saved Martin Hinteregger’s penalty with his knees before palming away a good effort from Gonzalo Pacienca as the Blues set up a showdown with London rivals Arsenal in Baku, Azerbaijan, on May 29.

Should Hazard’s reported big-money transfer to Real Madrid materialise this summer, the 28-year-old will have capped his Stamford Bridge tenure in the most dramatic of fashions.

Spanish stopper Kepa joined Hazard in the hero’s corner, and that after proving the villain of Chelsea’s shoot-out loss to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final back in February.

From refusing to be replaced that day as Chelsea lost 4-3 to City on spot-kicks, now Kepa is the toast of west London following two fine penalty saves.

Ruben Loftus-Cheek’s fine goal had initially put Chelsea in control, only for Luka Jovic to tuck away his 10th goal of the Europa League campaign.

Hazard conjured up an impetuous assist for Loftus-Cheek’s 10th goal of the season, but Eintracht forced the game into extra time – with the scores 1-1 on the night, 2-2 on aggregate and level on away goals.

A microcosm of Chelsea’s season and Maurizio Sarri’s tetchy Stamford Bridge reign in a single contest, the Blues bossed the first half only to tumble from that perch after the break.

Explained: What Liverpool must do on the final day of the Premier League season to beat Man City to the title

The top-flight giants will both finish the campaign with well over 90 points and can be considered two of the very best sides on the planet.

While City have won three titles in seven years including last term, Liverpool are longing to end their wait for another top-flight crown.

But they go into the final day as the underdogs with City’s 1-0 victory over Leicester on Monday night putting them back in front ahead of the final day of the Premier League season on Sunday.

Manchester City transfer news: Sporting Lisbon’s Bruno Fernandes will NOT be signing for Pep Guardiola’s men this summer

The Manchester Evening News claim that club sources have notified them that the 24-year-old is not a transfer target this summer, and thus will not be entering into talks with his representatives.

The Sporting midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to the reigning Premier League champions this summer, with Pep Guardiola looking to strengthen his numbers in midfield.

Guardiola is believed to be looking for cover for Fernandinho, while Ilkay Gundogan could also depart in the close season.

City ace Bernardo Silva had even talked Fernandes up in the media recently, labelling him a ‘great player’ and adding: “He has made a fantastic season with many goals, many assists that are not normal for a player of his position.

“He has the spearhead numbers and we will see what happens at the end of the season.
