Reason Why Styles/Nakamura Backlash Match Wasn’t Main Event, Cass

It was previously reported that the AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura Match for the WWE Title was originally pencilled in as the main event of last Sunday night’s WWE Backlash PPV. The reason that this was switched up and the match did not end the show is because of the way the finish was booked. With the fact that neither wrestler was able to get up before the referee’s ten count, WWE did not want to end the PPV on that note and so the order of matches was shuffled around.
According to Dave Meltzer in a recent edition of the Wrestling Observer Radio, Big Cass has the look and the body type that WWE likes and so they will likely continue to push him over and over again even if he fails to get over with the audience.
