There have been a number of controversial incidents in the world of pro wrestling. Some of these moments are unscripted and real issues that take place backstage or in the ring, and others are approved segments that have always been part of the show. Just about every wrestling promotion in the world has garnered some controversy due to a particular angle, and just before the new year began, MLW received some criticism for a recent angle that took place on their show. MLW has been moving up the ladder lately due to its talent roster and TV deal on beIN Sports, and while it is true that there have been plenty of offensive and tasteless angles in wrestling history, this particular one from MLW might have gone too far in the eyes of some fans.
It all started on MLW’s Fusion show this past week when Konnan took on Low-Ki for the MLW World Heavyweight Championship. These two wrestling veterans had their match exactly as planned, but it is what came after the match that has gotten people talking. After wrestling for a bit, the match was called off following interference from the members of Salina de la Renta’s Promociones Dorado. After that, Low-Ki appeared to take a knife and stab his 53-year-old opponent in the back. MLW has since announced that Promociones Dorado have been fined for the incident. The match featuring Konnan’s stabbing can be viewed down below, but keep in mind that it contains some disturbing imagery and is NSFW.

Season 2 of the Edge & Christian Show premiered on the WWE Network a few weeks ago, and it has mostly received praise from fans. The pair of former wrestlers have returned to deliver some great comedy, fantastic segments, and bountiful number of wrestling cameos. One of the most popular segments from season one of the show saw Edge & Christian debate over whether or not WWE would talk about certain topics. The segment returned on this week’s edition of the show, and the former tag team titleholders joked that mentioning former WWE Superstar CM Punk is off limits nowadays. Punk’s name was censored on the television screen behind them, and it was censored whenever Edge or Christian tried to mention it as well.
