Former WWE Women’s and Divas Champion Mickie James looks set to make her WWE main roster return for the first time in six years tonight on SmackDown Live.
Mickie made her first appearance for the company since the birth of her first child back in November when she faced Asuka at NXT Takeover: Toronto for the NXT Women’s Championship. Despite the fact that she failed to defeat the Japanese superstar, Triple H still stated that he was interested in signing the former Champion and she agreed to a three-year contract.
Mickie was scheduled to return to the company sometime this month and has since had to cancel all her planned Independent dates. It is thought that she will be revealed as the one behind the La Luchadora mask during Becky Lynch and Alexa Bliss’s steel Cage Women’s Championship match tonight.
It is not yet known what the long-term plan for Mickie is, but she did do much of her best work back in 2005/2006 as one of best female heel characters in the company.
