WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley appeared on Monday Night Raw earlier this week and confronted Elias before announcing that he will be the special guest referee for the Universal Championship match between Braun Strowman and Roman Reigns at Hell in a Cell this weekend. While some have reported that Foley could be taking a bump during the Hell in a Cell match, perhaps even mirroring some bumps that he has taken in past cell matches, Wrestling Observer Radio has claimed that WWE will not permit Foley to take any sort of serious bump this Sunday. Mick Foley will likely not be getting physical during the show, and it was noted that Foley was only added to the match in order to promote his one-man show that premieres on the WWE Network right after the pay-per-view ends.
As seen on this week’s edition of Raw, 205 Live wrestler Lio Rush has seemingly aligned himself with Bobby Lashley and will be working as his manager going forward. This move came one week after 205 Live General Manager Drake Maverick was selected to be the manager for The Authors of Pain. According to Fightful, WWE has chosen to have some of the cruiserweights that have strong talking skills into managerial roles in order to utilize their talents more while also possibly paving the way for more managers to eventually appear on Raw and SmackDown. Before WWE begins searching for performers who will work strictly as managers, the company will use 205 Live performers for the time being. Lio Rush and Drake Maverick still appear on 205 Live each Tuesday night.
James Storm has achieved a ton of success in the wrestling business over the years. Not only is he considered to be a “TNA Original,” but he also became an Impact Wrestling World Heavyweight Champion, a seven-time Impact Wrestling Tag Team Champion, and he has captured championship gold in several other promotions as well. This is why MLW fans were thrilled to see Storm debut for the promotion and attack Tom Lawlor during their recent set of tapings in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Per PWInsider, Storm and MLW have already decided to part ways, meaning that Storm’s appearance was just a one-off. There is no word on whether or not MLW still plans on airing the footage with Storm in the near future.
