— The reason WWE brought in the sumo wrestler – Hiroki Sumi – for the 50-man Greatest Royal Rumble has a bit of a funny/bizarre back story to it. According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, the Prince of Saudi Arabia – who wanted the show to begin with – gave Vince McMahon a list of wrestlers that he wanted to see on the show when the two sides were negotiating.
— While he listed a bunch of names, the key names he wanted on the show were The Ultimate Warrior, The Undertaker and Yokozuna. Because Yokozuna (and Warrior) have been dead for a long time, the word going around backstage was that Vince felt “compelled” to bring in someone who looked sort of like Yokozuna to appease the Prince.
